Make sure that your AirPlay-compatible devices are turned on and near each other. Check that the devices are updated to the latest software and are on the same Wi-Fi network. Restart the devices that you want to use with AirPlay or screen mirroring.
You can mirror your iPhone screen to a Mac with QuickTime and a Lightning to USB cable, or AirPlay and a third-party app. When you mirror your iPhone to Mac with AirPlay, you need to be on the same Wi-Fi network and use a third-party app like Reflector.
On an iPad, or an X-series iPhone, swipe down from the top-right corner; on other devices swipe up from the bottom of the screen. In iOS 11 or later, you should now tap Screen Mirroring, then select Apple TV. (If you're still using iOS 10, tap AirPlay, then select Apple TV.)
To use your iPad as a second display, you'll need to install the SplashTop app on your iPad and on your desktop. SplashTop is primarily a remote-access tool — it lets you use your Windows desktop from your iPad remotely for a subscription. But it also offers a screen mirroring mode for free.
Summary: The 2020 iPad Pro is an iOS tablet first with a keyboard/trackpad as an add-on. Keep that in mind. But it can definitely replace your laptop if you're willing to make a few accommodations and if you don't rely on high-end legacy apps or in-house software that can only run on Windows or macOS.
The iPad is also more mobile than a laptop, which is one of its main selling points. You can get some of the same versatility with a Windows-based tablet, but when compared to a laptop or desktop PC, the iPad certainly has an advantage.
For iPad / iPhone

- Tap the “Screen Mirroring” or “AirPlay” button.
- Select your computer.
- Your iOS screen will show on your computer.
Using a USB cable or adapter, you can directly connect iPad and a Mac or Windows PC. Make sure you have one of the following: Mac with a USB port and OS X 10.9 or later.
Make sure that the date and time settings on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC are correct. Make sure that you're signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID on all of your devices. Then, check that you turned on Contacts, Calendars, and Reminders* in your iCloud settings. Check your Internet connection.

Connect the EpocCam app on your iPhone or iPad to your Windows 10 PC. On your iPhone or iPad, open the EpocCam app. Allow EpocCam to access your iPhone's or iPad's camera; otherwise, it can't turn your iPhone into a webcam for your PC. Once it finds your Windows 10 PC, EpocCam immediately starts streaming video to it.
