Transferring your data from one Android device to another is ridiculously simple as most of it is synced with your Google account. In most cases, your data will sync automatically if you sign into your Google account on your new device.

Connect another device to your phone's hotspot
- On the other device, open that device's list of Wi-Fi options.
- Pick your phone's hotspot name.
- Enter your phone's hotspot password.
- Click Connect.

You own the phone once you contract has been paid off in full, so if your contract length is 36 months then once you have made the last payment then the phone is yours.

- Enter the seven-character Sky activation code that's on your SIM.
- Select Activate SIM.
- Insert your SIM into your phone. The SIM comes in three different sizes – to find out which one you need, see our phone guides and settings and search for 'SIM'.

Re: Contract Ends soonOnce the contract is over (12 or 24 months) you own the phone outright. Your contact just reverts to month to month at its end. Just let Optus know you want to end the arrangement on date X and they'll refund any money not used for that month.

For an undamaged device in good working order (“GWO”), the fee is $99. You basically have two options when it comes to your old phone: you keep it or you ditch it. If you decide to keep your device, then you at least have a back-up plan in the case that something happens to your new phone.

Is Telstra's New Phone Feeling good value? If you want to upgrade your phone after 12 months, "New Phone Feeling" is a decent option. The alternative would be to pay out the remaining value on your phone and then sell it.
With Telstra New Phone and Tablet Feeling, you can take up a new device in the last 12 months of your contract (without having to pay the remaining payments on your existing contract). You are under no obligation to use New Phone and Tablet Feeling. The Device Redemption Fee will be billed on your next Telstra bill.
In terms of data-for-dollar, the best value SIM-only plan on the Telstra network currently comes from Telstra. $49 per month gets you 60GB on a 12-month contract. This is easily one of the most generous Telstra offers we've seen to date (it normally costs $69 and only comes with 30GB data).
Remember, when your contract ends, it means you've paid off your handset and it belongs to you. This gives you the flexibility to choose a sim only, or pay-as-you-go deal.
The amount time you need to wait until your next upgrade all depends on which carrier and early upgrade plan you have. You typically see early upgrade plans ranging from 6-18 months and sometimes even 24 months on contracts that are longer than your average 2-year contract.
