QB1: Face of the Franchise is the major addition to Madden 20. Over the past couple of years, the games have leaned heavier into some honest-to-goodness storytelling. It's genuinely pretty cool that Madden is interested in bringing a kinder, more personable experience, rather than a whole bunch of faceless football.
Face of the Franchise (also known as QB1) is a mode introduced with Madden NFL 20. Combining elements of Longshot and Superstar modes from previous iterations of the series, Face of the Franchise is a guided experience that leads you into Be a Player mode of a new Franchise file with some added features.
In Madden 20 story mode, you create your own quarterback, play through the college playoff series, perform at the NFL combine, and are invited to draft day. An early exit from the college playoffs hurts your draft stock, as does a sloppy performance in Indianapolis for the combine.

There are no rewards for Franchise or other game modes, so if you bought Madden purely for that or simple online competition, it's likely you can skip Longshot mode. Still, Longshot doesn't take too long to complete.

A type of receiver in football that lines up behind the line of scrimmage, usually on the side of the tight end and the opposite side of the split end. This type of receiver is also known as a "flanker" or "wide receiver". In a certain position, the Z receiver will also be referred to as a "slot back".

It's based on the true story of 11-year-old Jasmine Plummer, from the south Chicago suburb of Harvey, who in 2003 became the first female to play quarterback in the Pop Warner football tournament. Her story is remarkable, especially if you factor in her national wrestling title and honor student status.
If you are a casual player that spends 3-7 hours playing Ultimate Team, Madden 20 is worth buying. It would be nice to see Madden add face scanning and to play more college games, but this is a good start and a fun mode so far.

It's the closest you'll get to NCAA Football 2020
Madden 20 franchise mode ticks one fan-service box by re-introducing an element AWOL for the past half-decade: playable college football. The college element is exclusive to 'Face of the Franchise', in which you control a single player rather than a whole team.In QB1 go to Options > Settings > League Settings > Player Mode & switch "Full On-Field Control" to ON. You'll be able to control the whole team instead of one player although I think you should've been able to since it was already on when I started on two players but yeah.
