All Navy SEAL's are given an array of weapons and attachments that they can use to modify their guns but they are not allowed to keep those guns because those guns are property of the U.S. Government. In fact if a Navy SEAL decides to try and take something extra home he will be prosecuted in a military court!
Weapons. SEALs use handguns such as the 9mm SIG Sauer P226 and the MK23 MOD 0 45-caliber offensive handgun with a suppressor and laser-aiming module.

Most operators will use the Peltor ComTac's or a similar style hearing protection/ enhancer and we were also issued (rarely used them) usually the throat mic that works with them as well. They are nice units and allow you to hear great but safely filter out dangerous noises.
Navy Seals don't wear them because they are not a unit that is designed for sustained combat.
For one, you would never catch any SEAL wearing any Navy apparel in public. In addition to that, they all hang out at the same bars, wear Gatorz sunglasses, have a Bone Frog tattoo somewhere on their body, typically wear a G-Shock and some form of American Flag apparel from Forged.

The 6 most secretive units in military history
- Task Force 88/Task Force Black. Scout Warrior.
- 6493rd Test Squadron/6594th Test Group. We Are The Mighty via US Air Force.
- Delta Force/Combat Applications Group/Army Compartmented Elements.
- SEAL Team 6/DEVGRU.
- 7781 Army Unit/39th Special Forces Operational Detachment.
- The OSS.
SEAL Team 6, officially known as United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU), and Delta Force, officially known as 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D), are the most highly trained elite forces in the US military.
Green Berets and Army Rangers are considered some of the toughest special operations forces in the US Armed Forces. While both of these units are highly elite in their own right, the amount of specialized training it takes to be a Ranger is less than what it takes to be a Green Beret.
Is training harder for Green Berets or Navy SEAL? Navy SEAL training is much more physically rigorous and has a higher attrition rate. Green Berets, or Special Forces is the second hardest U.S. military training program.
There's an on-going debate on who's tougher: a Navy SEAL or a member of the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment's Delta Unit, a.k.a. "Delta Force." Both are elite, super soldiers held in the highest regard for their specially-trained combat skills and endurance on and off the battlefield; they are the best of the
Tier 1 US special operators are members of the following US spec ops units. They are members of DEVGRU (SEAL Team Six) and Delta Force. Tier 2 US spec ops units are the following units, Army Rangers, Green Berets, SEALs, MARSOC and Marine Force Recon.
The training is arguably harder for Navy SEALs, yet that is not to suggest that Army Special Forces training is some sort of cakewalk (far from it!). Regardless, Green Berets are considered more elite and advanced compared to their Army counterpart – Rangers.
Operators in Delta Force wear whatever beret they're qualified to wear. If a soldier is recruited for Delta while he's in the 75th Ranger Regiment, he'll wear the tan beret. If he's recruited from the Special Forces Groups, he'll wear the green beret.
The Rangers are the most elite light infantry unit in the military. So to say if they're (Rangers) are considered special forces, the answer is no. To ask if they're a Special Operations Force, the answer is yes. They are part of the US Army Special Operations Command.
The Delta Force is the army's primary quick strike organization operating in the same vein as the SEALs do for the navy. Special Forces troops often called green berets are primarily teachers, assisting allied forces in training friendly, indigenous forces to become effective tactical forces within their home country.
The minimum rank required for Delta Force (E4, or "I've been a soldier for a few years now and haven't blown up any government property") would put you at roughly $55,000 a year (source). As you rise in rank, this could reach as much as $100,000 per year, but don't count on it.
Serious answer: Around 7,000 according to the Wikipedia page on Special Forces (United States Army). Green Beret in the US Army is basically synonymous with special forces.
Green Berets, or Army Special Forces, are the Army's (read: Military's) premier unconventional warfare unit. They operate in ODAs and fall under the command of USASOC and are a “white”, tier 2 Special Operations Force. Delta is a SMU (Special mission unit) which accepts people from any branch, any unit.
The 75th Ranger Regiment is a Special Operations Force, but they are not considered Special Forces because that term in the United States Army refers to units with a different, and specific purpose that perform other missions besides those of the Ranger Regiment.
Rangers: 5 Major Differences. Green Berets and Army Rangers are considered some of the toughest special operations forces in the US Armed Forces. While both of these units are highly elite in their own right, the amount of specialized training it takes to be a Ranger is less than what it takes to be a Green Beret.
Though Delta Force is primarily a tier-one counter-terrorist unit, specifically directed to kill or capture high value units (HVU) or dismantle terrorist cells, Delta Force remains extremely flexible and can engage in direct action missions, hostage rescues, and covert missions working directly with the Central
With plate interceptors, technically known as Small Arms Protective Inserts (SAPI), the vest can stop a NATO 7.62 round. Nowadays US soldiers do wear bulletproof vests while in combat. Earlier not every soldier went to war in an armored suit but now things have changed! Since, there are many units in a force.
Over its history, Delta Force has employed a number of weapons.
- M3a1 'Grease Gun'
- Walther MP.
- Colt Commando.
- Colt M4/M4A1.
- M16.
- HK MP5.
- HK416 carbine.
- Colt M1911a1 .45 pistol.
Originally the IBA system weighed 16.4 pounds (7.4 kg), with the vest weighing 8.4 pounds (3.8 kg), and two plate inserts weighing four pounds (1.8 kg) each.
It is noted that many of the Special Forces guys like to wear Asolo and Salomon Boots. These are a lot more beefy and you can carry a large pack in rugged rocky terrain without worrying about turning your ankle. Both have Gore-Tex (waterproof, breathable skin) and their boots accept orthotic insoles.
A modern day US infantry soldier will have a minimum of 7 magazines for his M4 rifle. With 30 rounds pr magazine this makes 210. Many, if not most, soldiers will carry an additional magazine or two.
Special operations forces wear body armor made of revolutionary materials, carry armor-puncturing knives, and don visions systems that can combine visual data with infrared and feeds from UAVs overhead. The M4A1 has been the standard for special operations since its release in 1994.
Wearing body armor is a balancing act between protection, heat and freedom of movement. The torso and head are usually protected using Kevlar panels and a Kevlar helmet. Some SWAT body armor incorporates ceramic armor.
