Best laptops that meet Oculus Rift minimum specs

The Oculus Go has a 2560 x 1440 fast-switch LCD display inside that can run at a refresh rate of 60Hz or 72Hz. The Oculus Rift uses one 1080 x 1200 OLED display per eye for an effective resolution of 2160 x 1200 at a faster 90Hz.
The headset has a 4K screen for each eye, and an incredible 200 degree field-of-view, putting the Pimax 8K miles ahead of the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive.
The Rift S has a slightly higher-resolution screen than the original Rift, at 1280 x 1440 pixels per eye instead of 1200 x 1080. But that's still not as high as the Oculus Quest, and the screen refresh rate has actually been downgraded. The Rift S only refreshes at a rate of 80Hz.

Not exclusively, no. Mobile VR headsets require a compatible smartphone, and the PlayStation VR is powered by either a PS4 or PS4 Pro. Oculus Rift is also supported by the Xbox One although it only generates a huge virtual flatscreen to play on; it doesn't do “proper” VR.
The Oculus Rift S is a replacement for the original Rift CV1, and it too requires a connected PC to power it. Compared to the HTC Vive, it uses a higher-res LCD display, but it has a lower 80Hz refresh rate, and it doesn't have manual interpupillary distance (IPD) adjustment.
All the VR headsets that work with Steam
Steam natively supports the most popular VR options, such as the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. It also supports a wealth of more niche options, like Windows Mixed Reality headsets. And, of course, Steam supports its own first-party headset, the Valve Index.Like other virtual reality headsets, the Oculus RIft has the arduous task of completely immersing you in a video game by producing two images simultaneously. It does this by hooking into the back of your graphics card's HDMI port and using a camera to track your head movement.
HTC Vive
One of the best VR headsets for PC use, the HTC Vive stands out for a number of key features, including room-tracking capability right out of the box. With the Oculus Rift, you have to pay $59 extra for that level of immersion.And then there are the headset costs. A high-end headset like HTC's Vive or the Oculus Rift will run you $599 and $799, respectively. At the present costs, a VR fan will have to shell out at least $1,600 for a high-end virtual reality experience.
This unit comes with the following six free games: Robo Recall, Lucky's Tale, Quill, Medium, Dead and Buried, and Toybox. When you purchase the Oculus with Touch, you get access to several games including Robo Recall.
Make Sure You Have the Hardware
That's only half of the hardware, though. You also need a PC that can handle virtual reality. Oculus recommends a system with at least an Intel Core i5-4950/AMD Ryzen 5 1500X CPU, an Nvidia GTX 970/1060 or AMD Radeon R9 290/RX 480, 8GB of RAM, three USB 3.0 ports, and an HDMI 1.3 port.The short answer is that VR is worth it. With some of the best games this generation, innovative controls, and a well-supported ecosystem of VR development, 2020 is a great year to enter the virtual world. Yet VR has also been slow on the uptake.
