According to the THX standard, a 50″ TV is optimally viewed from 6 to 7 feet away. A 60″ TV is optimal at almost 8 feet. 70″ is recommended at almost 10 feet and 80″ and up even further. You start getting any bigger with your TV screen size and you might not have the space for your couch to go back far enough.
In fact, if you're sitting nine feet away, even "big" TVs are still too small for you to see all the resolution for which they're capable. Or to put it another way, the resolution of your next TV is going to be plenty unless you're sitting very close, or are getting an exceptionally large TV (over 100 inches).
In the end, the price you pay for the bigger size TV depends on your TV watching habit. If you watch sports, movies, TV shows and play video games, a bigger size definitely provides value. And many a time watching a game with friends at home in front of a 70-inch screen trumps watching the real game.
It's always a good idea to cut cardboard with the dimensions of the TV size you want and place it in your room to check how it looks. A 65 inch or a 75 inch TV is a good size for the living room or your bedroom if it is spacious.
Crutchfield recommends a distance of 1 to 1.5 times diagonal screen size for 4K TVs and 1.5 to 2.5 for 1080p sets. Based on that, my 55 inch TV would have been fine anywhere between 55 and 82 inches, meaning that it would be a tad too small for my room.
QLED comes out on top on paper, delivering a higher brightness, longer lifespan, larger screen sizes, and lower price tags. OLED, on the other hand, has a better viewing angle, deeper black levels, uses less power, and might be better for your health.
In looking at standard 4K LED TVs vs 4K OLED TVs, both offer great viewing experiences and improvements over 1080p. But LG OLED technology will truly transform your home entertainment experience with superior blacks, cinematic colors and High Dynamic Range with Dolby Vision support.

If you're going to list down all the TV sizes available now on the store, 55-inch smart TVs would be in the middle. This means that if you're not sure which smart TV size you should get, you can easily count on 55" TVs-- that is not too big yet not too small.
The common TV panel sizes available today are: 32, 40, 42, 46/49 and 55 inch. To decide which is the ideal screen size for best viewing experience, measure the distance between where the TV will be placed and your bed/couch/chair. If the viewing distance is between 4-6 ft, buy a 32-inch unit.
As a rule, a 42” television should be mounted about 56 inches from floor to TV center, a 55” TV should be around 61 inches, a 65” TV should be around 65 inches' floor to center, and a 70” television should be mounted about 67 inches to the center of the screen.

There aren't a lot of 60 inch TVs out there, and only a few are released every year. Manufacturers are focusing more on their 55 inch and 65 inch models, where you'll find a great selection of choices.
For example, most people sit about 9 feet (108 inches) from their TV, so THX recommends a screen size of around 90 inches diagonal for that distance. I recommend a size of at least 40 inches for a bedroom TV and at least 55 inches for a living room or main TV -- and 65 inches or larger is best.
How far should you be from the screen?
| Tv screen size (1080p) | Suggested viewing distance in inches | Suggested viewing distance in feet |

| 60 in | 96 -105 in | 8 - 8.75 ft |
| 65 in | 105 -114 in | 8.75 - 9.5 ft |
| 70 in | 114 - 120 in | 9.5 - 10 ft |
| 75 in | 120 - 129 in | 10 - 10.75 ft |
