Is the Halo Reach campaign Good?

No it's not weird, Halo Reach had a great campaign, a great enemy portrayal, a great sense of apocalypse, and a nice a tie-in story that brought the dire tragedy of Reach to the rest of the Halo Series. All of which the new games haven't done yet.

Also question is, is Halo reach a good game?

Reach still does everything you expect a Halo game to do. There are epic set piece battles, varied levels, and surprisingly tight moments of sci-fi worldbuilding. There are all your favourite weapons (and a few more), buttery smooth controls, and frantic-but-not-infuriating multiplayer.

Additionally, what was the point of Halo Reach? Halo: Reach takes place in the year 2552, during the Covenant invasion of the Human colony world Reach, which serves as the main military center of the UNSC. Why is Halo 4 hated?

People who hate on Halo 4 generally are mad because they suck at the game. This has been my experience since its launch. I'll admit that I suck at H4 but that has nothing to do with the fact that the game is bad. AAs, loadouts, random weapon respawns, terrible maps, ridiculous auto aim, unbalanced weapons, etc.
It was originally so successful because of the original graphical integrity, being a launch title for the original Xbox, and for being around before CoD could hog the show. Plus great mechanics, fun Co-Op gameplay and a fun (and surprisingly deep) story. These together made Halo into a juggernaut.

Start with Halo Reach, go on to Halo: Combat Evolved than to Halo 2. Move onto Halo 3: ODST and than finish with Halo 3. I don't recommend moving onto Halo 4 as it really goes down hill right after, but if you really want to, start with halo 4 and move onto Halo 5: Guardians.
