To ship, pick up, or drop off your packages at FedEx Ship Centre and FedEx Authorized ShipCentre® staffed locations, select Get a shipping label. To pick up or drop off your pre-labelled, pre-packaged shipments at staffed FedEx Onsite locations, select Drop labelled package at staffed location.
FedEx. You can sign for packages online if you've signed up with the FedEx Delivery Manager service. Head to the Delivery Manager page and click one of the incoming packages on your dashboard. If it's grayed out, the package either doesn't require a signature or FedEx needs you to sign for it in person.
Even so, it sounds crazy that you can't just hand a package to a driver without getting an extra charge. FedEx Express drivers are employees. FedEx Ground and Home Delivery are independent contractors. Express drivers handle express only and ground theirs only.

If the cubic size of your FedEx Ground package measures three cubic feet (5,184 cubic inches or 84,951 cubic centimetres) or greater, you will be charged the greater of the dimensional weight or the actual weight. A package weighing 150 lbs.
A FedEx oversize charge applies to any package that exceeds 96 inches in length or 130 inches in length and girth. The rating will be based on the greater of the package's actual rounded weight or dimensional weight, subject to a 90-lb.
If no one is available to sign, FedEx will deliver the package in a safe place without obtaining signature. FedEx will obtain a signature from someone at the delivery address, from a neighbour or from a building manager. If no one is available to sign, FedEx will attempt to redeliver the package on another date.
There is no fee to open any type of FedEx account. Shipping account creation requires you provide a credit card number so that your billing information is tied to your FedEx account. In order to verify the credit card information, a temporary $1 hold may be placed on your credit card.

They say to watch out for anyone asking what the best day to deliver a package would be. Generally, UPS or FedEx would leave a note on your door. If you get a call, hang up and call back the legitimate delivery company. FedEx says they do not send unsolicited emails.
