Some aspects of TW are totally realistic, such as the way arrows bounce off trees. It's the most realistic simulation of ancient warfare that I know of, but it's still not very realistic. For one thing, in real battles communication and coordination were extremely difficult problems.

Developer Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA have to date not confirmed any plans for a Total War: Warhammer PS4 release (or Xbox One, for that matter), and that doesn't look set to change anytime soon. Total War: WARHAMMER will be available on PC, Mac and Linux via Steam OS.

After Total War Saga: Troy, the devs “have no plans for future games to be Epic exclusives” Total War Saga: Troy is going to be a timed Epic Games Store exclusive, and free for 24 hours after launch. That FAQ also reveals, however, that there are no plans for cross-platform play between Epic and Steam versions of Troy.
The first Total War, David Bell holds, comprised the Wars of the French Revolution and Napoleon. They involved conscription, the mobilization of the material resources of the nation, and propaganda to convince the people to support war against a "criminal" enemy (p. 280).

They are two completely different game franchises . Crusaders Kings is a medieval ruler simulator. You control all aspects of one person's life and you struggle to ensure that the kingdom you have created will be inherited by your heir. Total war is as the name suggests mostly about war and tactics.
Grand Strategy is the flagship initiative of the Center for International Relations and Politics. Grand strategy may be defined as the combination of diplomatic, economic, military, and political factors used by leaders to defend their respective nation-states.
Even though some lingering big issues are yet unresolved, Imperator is still a grand strategy experience well worth playing, and one with a future that looks brighter with each update.
I'd recommend Europa Universalis 4. It's probably the easiest to get into, although it would still take a while. However, the mechanics for it should be more familiar to a civ player; they're pretty different but CK2, the other candidate for beginners, has some weird things that are very foreign to a civ player.
