To use your Google Home as a speaker, first put it in pairing mode. You can do this in two ways: Say, "OK Google, Bluetooth pairing." Open the Google Home app on your smartphone, tap the Google Home device you want to pair, and then select "Paired Bluetooth devices." In this menu, select "Enable Pairing Mode."
Rebooting your
Google Nest or
Google Home speaker or display may fix several issues. There are two ways to reboot your speaker or display.
Unplug Google Nest or Google Home
- Unplug the power cord from your speaker or display.
- Leave it unplugged for ~1 minute.
- Plug the power cable back in.
Although generally pretty reliable,
Google Home speakers and displays do
glitch out from time to time.
Force close and relaunch the Google Home app.
- Tap Settings > Apps & Notifications.
- Locate the Google Home app.
- Tap Force Stop.
If the app doesn't see your Google/Nest device, unplug it, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in and try again. Next, tap Add in the top-left, then tap 'Set up a device,' followed by 'Set up new devices in your home. ' The app will now walk you through the setup process and connect the device to your new Wi-Fi network.
The reason you are getting “ some settings are not available “is because the router is letting the google home communicate. General troubleshooting
- Reboot the following devices: Wi-Fi router.

Once you've got the Chromecast in-hand—still plugged into the power and TV! —just press the one and only physical button on the side of the unit for roughly eight seconds. The Chromecast's indicator light will blink while you're holding the button—slowly at first, then faster once it gets closer to resetting.
Step 3.Verify settings

Connect Google Home to Wi-Fi
- Open the Google Home app.
- Click the + sign top left and tap Set up device.
- Go through the menus, selecting the location of your device and its name.
- When the list of Wi-Fi networks appear, choose your network, enter the password and tap Connect.
Press and hold the center of the Nest Audio, near the top. After 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting.
It will only show as a hotspot if it isn't connected to your network. Resolve the setup issue and it will be gone. If you've configured it before, there is a chance that it may have been temporarily unable to reach your wifi network and fell back to setup mode. It's likely an issue with your WiFi network.
Open up the Google Home app and tap Get Started in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Choose the Gmail account you want to use for your Google Home, then tap OK. Your iPhone will begin to look for nearby Google Home devices. Your iPhone will say “GoogleHome found” when it connects to your Google Home.
Make sure your Bluetooth speaker is in pairing mode. Find the Google Home you want to pair inside the Home app on your phone. Tap the gear icon to enter Device settings. Scroll down to Default music speaker and tap Pair Bluetooth Speaker.
If you are having Bluetooth issues with your Google Home, Home Mini or Nest Mini speaker, try using Wi-Fi-enabled workarounds like casting your audio or asking your Google Assistant for music. And now that Google has acknowledged the Bluetooth problem, hopefully the fix comes more promptly.
Clearing cache from the Google app can be a great way to fix the app. Step 1: Open Settings on your Android phone and go to Apps/Applications Manager. Then tap on Storage followed by Clear Cache. If this doesn't work, you should try the option called Clear data/Storage.
Go to the Device settings at the upper-right corner of the Google Home app and tap on the three-dot menu. Tap on Settings, scroll down and hit the Enable Pairing Mode option located inside the Paired Bluetooth Devices settings. The Enable Pairing Mode lets you pair any number of smartphones at a given time.
Users have reported recurring disconnecting from Wi-Fi. In other cases, these Google devices cause the router to shut down completely, or to stop transmitting the Wi-Fi signal. Make sure to update your Google Home Android app. Additionally, update your router to the latest firmware, and restart your Android device.
