Overall the PUR water filtration is pretty good for what it offers at its price point with the biggest advantage that we see is the fast on demand filtered water output with reasonably good taste. I just wish it was built better to last.
What filters do not expire and will remain intact as long as they are dry. However, once you start to use them, make sure you change them as early as possible to continue enjoying the benefits of clean, fresh water.
A PUR filter replacement should be installed every 100 gallons or approximately every two to three months. An indicator on the filter housing alerts you when the filter needs to be changed. How to Change the Battery for a Pur Electronic Filter
- Wait until you see a flashing red light on your PUR filter.

Resetting the light button after replacing the PUR Maxion water filter is simply done by pressing and holding the reset button for 5 seconds. The light will then flash green to indicate it's been reset and its working optimally.
