Each of these stations has between 15 and 17 spaces allocated for multi-day use of up to 10 days. Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.
There are 5 ways to get from Annapolis to New Carrollton by bus, subway, taxi or car
- Take the bus from WEST ST & CALVERT ST fs wb to INDEPENDENCE AVE & 4TH ST SW wb 230.
- Take the subway from L'ENFANT PLAZA station to NEW CARROLLTON station Orange.

Parking is free at Metro-operated lots on weekends and federal holidays, except during special events. Most weekends, it's easy to find a space at Metro parking lots.
There are only 3 stations that allow overnight parking. YYMV parking illegally. I've parked at shady grove and then went out of town for the weekend. I've read that technically you're allowed to be parked for 24 hours, so you would be able to park overnight.
Short-term metered parking: Cost is $1 per hour (quarters and $1 coins only.) Weekends and federal holidays: Parking at Metro-operated lots is free.
Parking: Daily: M-F $5.20 all day. ($8.95 all day for non-riders)

Are park and rides secure? Most park and rides are not staffed by an attendant, but police typically patrol them. Some park and rides are equipped with enhanced lighting, emergency call boxes and security cameras. Wherever you park, it's always wise to be aware of your surroundings.

You can take a vehicle from Union Station to Foggy Bottom–GWU Station via METRO CENTER station in around 13 min. Alternatively, DC Circulator operates a bus from North Capitol Street and Massachusetts Avenue NW to Pennsylvania Avenue and 22nd Street NW every 15 minutes. Tickets cost $1 and the journey takes 27 min.
Foggy Bottom–GWU station. Providing service for the Blue, Silver, and Orange Lines, the station is located on I Street on the George Washington University (GWU) campus. It is the last westbound station in the District of Columbia on these lines before they dive under the Potomac River to Virginia.
Weekdays: 5am-9pm, trains operating every 15 mins. Weekends: 8am-9pm trains operating every 20 mins.
Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro Station. Metro Lines: Orange, Silver, and Blue Lines.
Most lines operate from before 5am to midnight or later on weekdays, with service until 2am on weekends. Trains run as often as every five minutes during peak times, though you could be stuck waiting for 20 minutes during late nights.
