Reduced budget, mismanagement, and smaller development team contributed to a "rough launch" Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft 3: Reforged launched last year to a poor reception from critics and players alike, and a report from Bloomberg yesterday shed new light on the circumstances that led to that.
Reforged had launched with an incredible amount of bugs, clunky graphics, no custom games for the casual gamers, no profile with stats and to be honest the list goes on and on. There's one feature that the game was missing which killed the competitive aspect of the game, and it was a robust ladder system.

If there's not at least an article on a day after tomorrow, about the 1 year anniversary, than we can safely assume that Reforged has been abandoned 100%.

Well…you can install both and still play the original first. Of course. Pretty much all PC games are backwards compatible, unless they specifically require only windows XP for instance..
WC3 classic owners are now forced to download Reforged regardless. According to Blizzard, you can no longer download the classic client anymore, even if you're a legal user. And you can't even utilize the Reforged graphics.
The only person that can play this game properly? yes.
Can you play Warcraft 3 Reforged Offline? Yes, you can play Warcraft 3 Reforged offline. Just click on the options menu in the bottom right corner, click on logout and from now on WC3 Reforged is offline.
The PTR is one of the current rare solutions to play the old classic Warcraft 3 version. Blizzard killed the latest live version of ROC and TFT and replaced it with Reforged. You can't play Reforged offline: Even to get through the main menu, you need to log in.
Warcraft 3 never died though, the custom games kept it alive and kicking. To be fair tho, technically it is dead when it has a player base less than 4500. Most days I see it only has 1500-1700 people online. It's fun to play, and you can find games sometimes but it's pretty dead.
