The last Friday of August each year is Wear It Purple Day. Wear It Purple Day is all about celebrating and supporting young LGBTQIA+ people, and challenging societal attitudes to help shape a better world for us all to live in.
Spirit Day is an annual LGBTQ awareness day observed on the third Thursday in October. Promoted by GLAAD, observers wear the color purple as a visible sign of support for LGBTQ youth and against bullying during National Bullying Prevention Month, as well as to honor LGBTQ victims of suicide.
The negative meanings of purple are decadence, conceit, and pomposity. Purple is also a color of mourning.
It symbolizes strength and power. According to the National Woman's Party, “Purple is the color of loyalty, constancy to purpose, unswerving steadfastness to a cause.” It's also the color of dignity and self-respect and signifies bipartisanship.
The color purple is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition. Purple also represents meanings of wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence, and magic.

WHY: CTR's 2021 Golf Tournament relies on the support of our friends, community, and sponsors to raise donations for Tough Enough to Wear Pink. Proceeds from the tournament help Tough Enough to Wear Pink, a local organization focused on raising donations to fight Breast Cancer continue their race for a cure.
