Some people say that you should only move to East Finchley if you decide to settle down, as the area is extremely “dull”. They also say that Muswell Hill (read my area guide to Muswell Hill as well) is posh and boring. There are so many charming streets, beautiful houses and green spaces in East Finchley.
I love it up here, the area is quiet and people are much friendlier than central London. Loads of green space, couple of nice pubs and good cheap restaurants plus ballards lane and north Finchley have most chain stores and supermarkets you need. Northern line isn't great but is way better than it used to be.
Living in Hatfield, Hertfordshire
The A1, one of the UK's busiest motorways, runs through the town but despite this Hatfield is surprisingly quiet and unbothered by the rush of London. Could be a good location if you know you'd be easily distracted by the big city, but don't want to be too far away from it either. The quality of life in Hendon is very good. Hendon is known to be a fairly safe area, with wide pavements. Almost a third of the population in Hendon is 45 or older. It is also very diverse, and is home to a large Jewish community.
If you want to live in London, Kingsbury is an excellent place to live. Kingsbury is the jewel in the crown of the London Borough of Brent. By far most property is privately owned and in the main well cared for. It's a middle class area.
High Barnet is one of the best areas for families in London. It has a higher than average safety record, a few top performing schools in England and loads of green spaces and parks. One is for Barnet, one is for Islington, which is a very popular borough for young professionals.
I would say Wood Green is relatively safe, the shooting recently was on Lordship Lane, which I find quite dodgy, in fact as soon as you come up from the shopping mall to the cinema and nandos area and along lordship lane it's not super pleasant.
Edgware - 762
With 762 crimes recorded in Edgware during 2018 the area is the seventh "most dangerous" place to live in Harrow. There were 85 burglaries, 79 counts of criminal damage and 20 sexual offences.Hendon is an ancient Norman name that arrived in England after the Norman Conquest of 1066. The Hendon family lived in the place named Hendon, in Middlesex. The place-name is derived from an Old English expression that means at the high hill or in the valley with the deer.
Colindale is an area of suburban character, and in recent years has emerged as a hotspot for new build apartments amid a large regeneration scheme.
