Are the Darth Vader comics canon? Soule and Gillen's Marvel runs of Darth Vader are canon. They're both excellent and well worth reading. Dark Visions miniseries is also canon.
Marvel announced today that more than 500 Star Wars comics (with more on the way this summer) have just been added to its Marvel Unlimited digital subscription service, including both Marvel comics from 1977-1987 and Dark Horse Comics from throughout that publisher's partnership with Lucasfilm.
1 Darth Vader
Yes, this is the second Darth Vader comic series to appear on the list, but the two are completely different from each other. Dark Lord Of The Sith is an excellent series on its own, telling the story of the early days of Darth Vader and how he first gained his power.Soule and Gillen's Marvel runs of Darth Vader are canon. They're both excellent and well worth reading. Dark Visions miniseries is also canon. If something isn't canon it should have a big “Legends” logo on it unless it's an old copy.
Are Marvel's Star Wars comics any good? Absolutely. The main book is hit or miss with its arcs honestly. But Gillen's Vader, the Darth Maul mini, and the Lando mini are great.
