As such the GTX 960 was good for 52 fps on average and we are using the Epic quality preset, so with competitive settings the GTX 960 would be pushing over 60 fps at 1080p. This means the upgrade to the GTX 1660 would net you a healthy 146% performance boost, hitting 118 fps on average.

The GTX 970 is not that great of a choice if you want to run high res textures, especially when 512MB of the 4GB total is slower than the other 3.5GB. That doesn't mean it's a bad card, just that you would need to keep the vram usage under 3.4GB.
Regardless of if the monitor is worth it or not, a 960 will not run any gpu hogging game at 144hz.
the 960 is good enough for 1920x1080 gaming between 40 and 75 fps, depending on the game. If you're recording or live-streaming your game, you might want to take a half-step up to something like the R9 380X (which sits between the 960 and 970 in power), just to give some overhead.
How to play 4K content over HDMI 2.0 with the NVidia GeForce GTX 960. A lot of PC and Mac's can support playing 4K at 30 hz using HDMI 1.4 but you will need a newer graphics card like the NVidia GeForce GTX 960 in order to get 4K at 60 hz.
Yes, it does require external power, the reference cards require a sinlg e 6-pin, and it is possible that some extreme factory OC cards (Asus Strix, eVGA FTW) require an 8-pin. The 960 has a 120w TDP, which is well outside the 75w a PCI-e slot can supply.
The 970 does perform significantly better than the 3GB 1060, but even so you'll want to dial the quality settings down a little. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is another title that sees AMD GPUs doing quite well and here the GTX 970 was 12% slower than the R9 290. The 970 was still the superior GPU in this title.
Comparing the GTX 960 and 970 shows that the 970 is around 70% faster and a comparison of the GTX 960 and 980 shows that GTX 980 is almost exactly twice as fast as the 960. Of the three cards the GTX 970 offers the best bang for your buck, in-fact the GTX 970 is still one of best value cards available.
I would say, if you have a decent system, you can easily run GTA 5, Subnautica, the new Dragon Ball FigtherZ, and PUBG. Hope that helped! Go to Notebook / Laptop Reviews and News and search for GTX 960. It shows every latest game that you can run on your laptop with possible average fps.
The GeForce GTX 960 MSI Gaming 4GB Edition GPU could struggle if it was to try and run the most demanding games available today, but it meets a lot of game system requirements found in today's games. All games with system requirements of DirectX 12 or lower are met by this card.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 is a desktop graphics card of the upper middle class. It is based on the GM206 Maxwell chip that is produced in 28nm. Compared to laptop graphics cards, the 960 is slightly faster than a mobile Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M. The 970M offers more shader cores, but at a lower clock speed.

In reference form, the GTX 960 measures 9.5 inches long, taking up dual slots in your case and packing a dual-link DVI port, an HDMI 2.0 port, and a trio of DisplayPort connections. One other thing jumps out staring at the spec sheet: The GTX 960 features only 2GB of GDDR5 memory with a 128-bit bus, which seems…
No, 2 GB RAM isn't enough for high level gaming. All modern AAA titles demand at least 6 GB of RAM. 2GB graphics card with 2GB ram is very rare combo but i think you need minimum of 4GB Ram to play games but not high end gaming . Because for high end you need better graphics card and RAM from 8–16GB.
Distinguished. They sell secondhand for around $80 to $100 on Reddit Hardware Swap regularly with the lower end being the more common return lately.
However, VRAM is nothing without a good enough GPU processor to run at high resolutions. There's no point in having a weak GPU with a lot of VRAM. VRAM at 1080P Gaming – At 1080P, you can get away with 2-3GB of VRAM. 1080P in 2020 is very easy to run since the images being produced are quite small.

A 2GB Graphics Card functions in the same way as the 4GB Card, but the difference is that the 2GB Card has lesser Memory space than the 4GB Card does, and thus may lag or freeze when run on High or Ultra Settings but will run on low settings. What you need to understand first is what is a graphics card.
