Pemberley is the fictional country estate owned by Fitzwilliam Darcy, the male protagonist in Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice. It is located near the fictional town of Lambton, and believed by some to be based on Lyme Park, south of Disley in Cheshire.
Overall, while a few productions have room for improvement, these Pride and Prejudice adaptations all have something to offer.

The answer to the question, Who is "Pride" and who is "Prejudice" is: Darcy is Pride, and Elizabeth is Prejudice. But these outright impressions of the two protagonists of each other is judgmental. This overly critical review needs scrutiny. Darcy is neither proud nor is Elizabeth prejudiced.

According to Austen, Mr. Bennet's annual income is 2,000 pounds, or 160,000 dollars. Compare that to Darcy's 10,000 pounds or 800,000 dollars. Additionally, the sums Austen gives are often discussed in terms of 4 or 5 percents.
Are the shades of Pemberley to be thus polluted?" seems to be a statement of dismay or worry, like "goodness gracious!" or "Gosh no!" And the phrase to be indicates the future; thus polluted, tainted.
Darcy is attracted to Elizabeth early on, but he sees her as unfit socially as a wife; however his feelings for her are such that he decides to forgo convention to marry the woman he loves, fitting him into the mould of a Romantic hero.
Most Pride and Prejudice readers will tell you that Longbourn is a completely fictional town in Hertforshire. It isn't just longbourn either, he also has possible localities for Netherfield Park and Meryton. It's really interesting to wonder if perhaps Austen holidayed there and used the inspiration for P&P.
Hertfordshire: The neighborhood, or county, where Longbourn, Netherfield, and Meryton are all located. Hunsford: The town where Charlotte and Mr. Collins live. Brighton: The town to which the soldiers from Meryton are moved.

Mrs. Gardiner's advice to Elizabeth against falling in love with Wickham underlines her sagacity and accentuates the fact that in marriage, money is almost as important as love.
One of the most obvious symbols in Pride and Prejudice is dancing. A couple's compatibility in dance is almost always a symbol of their relationship. When Elizabeth and Darcy dance together the first time, their steps are stilted and formal, much like their relationship at that point.
Pride and Prejudice is set in England at some point in the very late 1700s-early 1800s. The exact dates are unclear, but we know the action takes place some time during the Napoleonic Wars (1797-1815) because Austen references soldiers and regiments.
