College football teams are allowed to have players with duplicate numbers. They're just not allowed to have two of the same number on the field at the same time. In Maryland's game at Texas on Saturday, the Terps violated that rule.
The 2019 LSU Tigers, the No. 3 seed in our Best Team Ever bracket, cruised past 2013 Florida State and 2009 Alabama to reach the semifinals, but had to get past the top two seeds in our tournament to be crowned the best college football team ever.

Shortly after forming its first football team in 1890, Missouri adopted the tiger as its mascot.LSU is a good school for sports and that's about it. The school is focused mostly on Greek life and nothing more. Academics are decent but don't receive enough funding. Most out of state students are below sub par.

Memorial Stadium in South Carolina is the home of the Clemson Tigers. In Baton Rouge there is Tiger Stadium. Clemson refers to their place as “Death Valley.” LSU claims the title of “Death Valley” for Tiger Stadium.

It wasn't until 1959 that LSU's Tiger Stadium was first called Death Valley. Previously known as Deaf Valley because of the crowd noise, the name transformed to Death Valley after the 1959 Sugar Bowl in which LSU beat Clemson.
Why is it called Death Valley? Death Valley was given its forbidding name by a group of pioneers lost here in the winter of 1849-1850. Even though, as far as we know, only one of the group died here, they all assumed that this valley would be their grave.

18 was an LSU tradition established in 2003 when Quarterback Matt Mauck guided LSU to the National Championship. After Mauck's final season, he passed jersey No. 18 to running back Jacob Hester who helped LSU win the 2007 National Championship.
The 11-month-old, Siberian-Bengal, male tiger acclimated well to his new surroundings and was deemed ready to become Mike VII. The start of MIke VII's reign ended a 314-day span without the live mascot on the LSU campus, the longest in school history.

It includes the "Hold that Tiger" musical phrase from "Tiger Rag" played by the LSU band and the fans shout "Geaux Tigers" at the end of each phrase.geaux, is not a real official word in french nor english. officially it means nothing, but … was adopted as a catchphrase for any number of sports teams in Louisiana. Geaux Tigers is a common saying at Louisiana State University and corresponding area.
Burrow was again named LSU's starting quarterback heading into his redshirt senior season in 2019. In the Tigers' season opener against Georgia Southern, Burrow threw for 278 yards and five touchdowns in a 55–3 win, and was later named SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week (with Tua Tagovailoa).
