This year's race takes place on Saturday April 4, 2020.
The cancellation marked the first time since World War II the famous steeplechase was not run. ITV did however broadcast the Virtual Grand National, a computer-generated version of the race, on 4 April at the usual race time of 5:15pm.
Leading 'free-to-air' channel, ITV, paid around £30million to secure a 4-year deal. They have the broadcasting rights to show the Grand National LIVE from 2017 to 2020.
Who won the Virtual Grand National in 2019? Rathvinden came out top in this year's CGI race, followed by 2018 Grand National winner Tiger Roll. In third place was Jury Duty followed by Anibale Fly in fourth.

Virtual Grand National 2020: Potters Corner wins televised race. Potters Corner has won the televised Virtual Grand National after the big race was cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic. The 18-1 shot beat runner-up Walk In The Mill (16-1) in the computer-simulated race, with Any Second Now (10-1) third.

The Virtual Grand National, created by Inspired was developed to feature declared runners and riders of the Grand National. The 1993 Grand National was declared void here yesterday after two false starts reduced the race to a farce. The disruption of the world's most-watched horse race was a victory for animal rights' protesters who staged a demonstration at the first fence for the second year running.
The computer will take data from previous performances by horses and the outcome will use factors such as age, weight and form to decide the horse best-placed to win. That data has been used to generate odds on the race. The virtual race will be on ITV1 from 5pm on Saturday, April 4.
The event was due to be sponsored by Randox Health as part of an agreement signed in 2016 for the company to sponsor the race for five years, starting in 2017.
