God complex is not a clinical term nor diagnosable disorder and does not appear in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). The recognized diagnostic name for the behaviors associated with a God complex is narcissistic personality disorder (NPD).
Narcissism has also been called the god complex. A god complex is an unshakable belief characterized by consistently inflated feelings of personal ability, privilege, or infallibility.
And like so many mental disorders, it's not entirely known what causes it, though it's thought to be rooted in either excessive pampering or criticism from parents or a genetic predisposition, and it typically affects more males than females beginning in the teen years or early adulthood.
The Doctor and River marry in "The Wedding of River Song", and Rory becomes the Doctor's father-in-law. In "The Angels Take Manhattan", the fifth episode of the seventh series, he and Amy are transported back in time by a Weeping Angel, leading to the couple's departure from the series.
Amy's bedroom included a bed, a dresser, a table, and, during her childhood, a doll house. After her first encounter with the Doctor, she made many dolls of him and models of the TARDIS, all of which remained in her room throughout her adolescence and early adult life.
Silence will Fall! The Silence were defeated when the Doctor ensured the world saw footage of a Silent apparently ordering people to attack them on sight. This 'command' acted like a post-hypnotic suggestion and humans finally turned on the aliens.
The Vault, hidden beneath the campus of St Luke's University in Bristol, was a Quantum Fold Chamber which contained Missy. The Twelfth Doctor made a oath to protect the chamber for a thousand years. Like some other examples of Time Lord technology, the chamber was bigger on the inside.
In that moment, the Doctor feels a connection to her, he figures she's trustworthy enough to keep the secret, and what the hell he already told other people, like River, so he decides to tell her his real name : Basil. She, in returns, also tells him her real name.
Any companion who travels with the Doctor sacrifices their chance at a normal life completely. Plenty of one-shot characters have sacrificed their lives to the Doctor too. So the Doctor has the powers of a god, and he is (functionally at least) worshiped as a god. So he is, basically, a god.
The doctor believes in people not gods. I've always considered Doctor Who to be a show free of religion with the exception of The Doctor himself. He doesn't believe in god, because he is god.
When the War Doctor learned of this plan, he stole 'the Moment', and used it to destroy Gallifrey and the Daleks to end the Time War. However, when the Doctor later found a way to save Gallifrey by freezing it in time in a pocket dimension, Rassilon and the rest of the High Council became trapped.
“The God Complex†is the second Doctor Who story in a row in which Amy Pond's survival relies on testing her faith in the Doctor to beyond endurance.
The real name of the Doctor in Doctor Who has been revealed as Mildred. Showrunner Steven Moffat made the claim in a jokey response to a fan's query in the new issue of Doctor Who Magazine.
The Doctor's TARDIS bedroomIn some sources, the Doctor had their own bedroom in the TARDIS.
"God Complex" is the fourth episode of Season Eight and the 166th overall of Criminal Minds.
