Abstract art is also considered as an option for good results in art GCSE. Did you know that for your exams you can trace an image or a photo that you want to draw? Tracing is very easy, so you do not really have to bother learning all of the proportions of the face.
Science subjects like Biology, Chemistry and Physics (alongside any Combined versions) are also some of the easiest subjects to pass at GCSE. This is due to the fact that as soon as you know the knowledge, there is very little exam technique that needs to be nailed.
So in no particular order, here are the subjects that we believe are the toughest GCSEs to do well in!
- Music.
- English Literature.
- Maths.
- Sciences.
- Engineering.
- Drama.
- Geography. Similar to History, Geography is largely essay based (although sometimes exam questions may be short answer too).
- Computing/Computer Science.
GCSE's are hard but are also manageable. The level of 'hardness' depends on you as well. To get a 7, 9 or 9 you are going to need to put the effort and time in, however, it also depends on what you're better at. For me, I find maths hard.
Use FOUR pages of your sketchbook where you produce a COLLAGE of images related to your THEME.

Art strengthens focus and increases attention, develops hand-eye coordination, requires practice and strategic thinking, and involves interacting with the material world through different tools and art mediums. 3) Art Prepares Kids for the Future. Creative, open-minded people are highly desired in all career paths.
As you do have to take your GCSEs during school hours, the maximum amount of GCSEs that you could do at once is most likely around 16.
What background do I need? Many students taking A level Art have a GCSE in Art (B or above) and enjoy the combination of practical, technical, creative, and contextual demands involved in such a practical, coursework-laden subject.
Honestly, the hardest part of history is time management, during the exam. Most people probably wouldn't say the course is hard. If you're good at history and you enjoy history take it for GCSE, universities won't really care too much or worry about GCSEs.
The compulsory subjects are: English (English Literature and English Language or a single English GCSE) Maths. Science (Combined Science or Individual Sciences)
Food tech. A lot of kids get hugely fatigued doing too many intensely academic essay based subjects, and a practical subject can be a hugely enjoyable change. The new spec is much more challenging than the old GCSE, so it still has an academic element and will be challenging just in different ways.
Consistent standards
A statistical analysis it carried out showed in 2016 French and German were among the five hardest of the 30 main GCSE subjects. German was found to be two-fifths of a grade harder than the average across all subjects. Some GCSEs and A-levels are harder than others, England's exams watchdog says. The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority report said history GCSE was harder than geography, and chemistry was harder than physics and biology.
Geography. Geography is a humanities subject, but with some relevance to Physics and Economics. This interesting subject covers earth processes and human interactions with the planet. It's also a fairly straightforward subject and it's easy to do well in it.
Be warned, Latin is one of those GCSEs that gets much harder in Y10/11 than the basic subject studied in Y7/8/9. A university is more likely to be swayed by good overall grades at GCSE than specifically being impressed by a particular subject (unless that subject is part of their general/degree entry requirements).
Latin GCSE is a tough one to get a top grade in so historically it has been considered a "good one to get" for students who want to demonstrate academic ability.
Because Drama isn't a very content-heavy subject and you don't learn loads of facts, it has a reputation as being an easy subject that isn't particularly useful.
