Protect and Serve
First off, a screen protector is not a case or a cover, it's a clear sheet of protective material that is applied directly to your tablet's touch screen. The fact is that there is no screen protector that matches the quality of the Corning glass that your iPad comes with.Obviously, iPad cases are meant to protect the device that it's enclosing, but it won't prevent damage from every accidental drop. Depending on how you drop your iPad and the way it lands on a certain type of surface, a case might not do much in the way of protection.

There are no magnetic components aside from the Smart Cover attachment points and the unlock sensor—there's a magnetometer for the compass, but it doesn't use a magnet.
With the ports and buttons securely plugged, the Otterbox Defender prevents debris like dust or sand from getting in. Like the Lifeproof, the Otterbox Defender also has built-in screen protection to defend against scratches and scrapes.

Look in Settings
The easiest way to find out which iPad you've got is to open the Settings app and check in General > About. In the top set of entries you'll see one for Model Name.iPad Models: Find Your iPad's Model Number
Open the Settings app on your iPad. Tap About. Look down the page; you'll see a section entitled Model. Tap on the Model section, and you'll get a shorter number that begins with a capital 'A', that's your model number. The iPad Air 2 is thinner and faster than its predecessor, the iPad Air, and features Touch ID with the height and screen size the same as the iPad Air. The iPad Air 2 was discontinued on March 21, 2017 exactly 1 year after the first generation was discontinued.
Overall, it seems that basic iPad Air cases will fit the iPad Air 2 just fine, while more advanced iPad Air cases that are meant to fit the tablet more firmly won't work with the newer iPad Air 2.
The good news is that you don't have to wait for new cases to come out. Most 10.5-inch iPad Pro cases will fit the 10.5-inch iPad Air just fine. Keep in mind, however, that the 10.5-inch iPad Pro has four speakers (two on each side), while the iPad Air has two.
The original iPad Air and iPad Air 2 models are both 9.4 inches tall and 6.6 inches wide when held in portrait (vertical) orientation, but the iPad Air 2 is slightly thinner (0.24 of an inch compared to 0.29 of an inch) and lighter (just slightly under a pound compared to just slightly over a pound).
iPad Air 2 with Wi-Fi models will be available for a suggested retail price of $499 (US) for the 16GB model, $599 (US) for the 64GB model and $699 (US) for the 128GB model.
As usual, it depends. The 9.7-inch iPad Pro and the iPad Air 2 have the same dimensions: 9.4 x 6.6 x 0.24 inches. So iPad Air 2 cases should fit on the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.
The iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are not waterproof. Even the Apple Watch is only water-resistant and not waterproof like some had hoped it would be. There are waterproof cases available for the iPad, but none have been released to fit the iPad Air 2 at this time.
The iPad Air 2, iPad Air 3, and iPad Pro 10.5" (2nd Gen) models all use designs of similar style with gently rounded sides and corners, but the iPad Air 2 is a bit smaller than the other two models, which are the same size and almost the same weight.
If you do a lot of streaming and very little offline watching, 32GB to 64GB is acceptable. If you want to be able to save a few movies and shows without having to delete other items on your iPad, 128GB is the better bet.
