The lowest ranking Army ROTC officer is a cadet second lieutenant. The second up the ladder is cadet first lieutenant, followed by cadet captain. Above the cadet captain in rank is the cadet major. A cadet lieutenant colonel ranks above the cadet major, and the cadet colonel is the ROTC's highest officer rank.

When on campus and in uniform, cadets will salute all cadet officers and cadre officers of all services. It is appropriate to accompany the salute with a word of greeting, for example, “Good morning, sir.”

What is the purpose of Cadets? Cadets form a national organization whose purpose is to develop in youth the attributes of leadership, engaged and active citizenship and physical fitness, all within a safe environment that stimulates an interest in the Canadian Forces.

The Odds Are Against YouIt's really hard to get into a military service academy. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, 41,989 people applied to the five military academies for the Class of 2023. However, there are only about 4,100 slots available each year.
It's not unusual for cadets to drop out of West Point, an institution known for its rigorous academic and physical demands. But the window for dropping out without the potential for a penalty is in the first two years. Dropouts are rare after that point.
On December 8, West Point cadets and Naval Academy midshipmen will face off on the gridiron for the 119th annual Army-Navy football game. Army has higher-ranked academics and a better football team for the past two seasons. But Navy is the better overall school.
Most of the time Green Berets don't attend Ranger school. Except after making E-7. The pathway to becoming a Green Beret is basic, AIT, jump school.
