Services and informationThe monthly schedule for Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped and Income Support benefits payments. AADL helps Albertans with a long-term disability, chronic or terminal illness to pay for basic medical equipment and supplies.
If you have any questions about the status of your AISH application, call -1-877-759-6810 (toll free) or 587-759-6810 (Edmonton area). If your application is approved: you will get a phone call and a letter saying you are eligible for AISH.
AISH provides a maximum monthly living allowance of $1,685 to assist clients living in the community. The living allowance may be reduced if a client and their cohabiting partner receive non-exempt income, or if a client resides in a Government of Alberta group home.
While a disabled (nonblind) person applying for or receiving SSDI cannot earn more than $1,260 per month by working, a person collecting SSDI can have any amount of income from investments, interest, or a spouse's income, and any amount of assets.

The monthly payment for Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) and Income Support (IS) occurs on the first of the month. When the first of the month is a holiday or weekend, benefits will be paid on the last business day of the previous month.
Alberta Works helps: • Unemployed Albertans find employment; • Low-income Albertans cover their basic living costs. Income Support provides financial assistance to Albertans who do not have the resources to meet their basic needs for food, clothing and shelter.
Depending on your bank, the funds are available sometime after midnight on the day they are due, usually in the early hours. Some banks deposit money into your account around 11.30pm so you can withdraw it before midnight on benefit payday. Others will release your funds at midnight or just a few minutes after that.

be eligible for AISH, you must meet age, residency, medical and financial criteria.
Medical criteria
- You must have a medical condition that is likely to remain permanent.
- Your medical condition must be the main factor limiting your ability to earn a living, not other factors such as your education level.
