How to Create Thumbnail Images
- Use the HTML <img> tag, choosing the “src” attribute to put the image you need.
- Put the “width” attribute to define the width of your image.
- Use the “alt” attribute to define the alternate text for the image.
Click "Link" underneath the New Feed heading on your Facebook homepage. Type the URL that you wish to link to in the text box and click the "Attach" button. Click the left and right arrows to browse to the image that you want to use as the link's thumbnail. Type your comment about the link in the text box.
To set your Featured Image, scroll down in your page or post underneath the Publish button. There you'll see a link that says Set featured image. Clicking it will bring you to your media library where you can either upload something new or choose an image you already have on your website.
Thumbnails are intended to give your readers a quick previews of images (small images) and each Image is linked to the full version of the real Image. You can create a Thumbnail image link with the help of HTML link tag.
Click inside the text field marked "What's on Your Mind," which is located right above your Facebook wall. Type the status update that you want to include with the link. Type or paste the URL of the Web page that you want to share into the text field. Include the "http://" section of the URL.

Changing the thumbnail when sharing a link in Facebook
- Hover over Settings menu and select the Site option.

- Save your changes.
Simply go to your Facebook page About section and scroll down to Page Info (left menu). Click on Username and you'll be able to change your handle and, ultimately, your page URL too. Once you click the edit button, you will be able to change the username, which also changes the page URL.

- Visit the Google URL shortener site at goo.gl.
- If you aren't signed in, click the Sign in button in the top right corner.
- Write or paste your URL in the Paste your long URL here box.
- Click Shorten URL.
Force Facebook to clear the cache
You might not be seeing the Facebook link preview you want because the info has been cached by Facebook. (Facebook saves the info from URLs and pages that have already been shared, for better performance.) So you just may need to force Facebook to clear the cache.Link previews are usually generated by fetching the URL and parsing meta tags of the page for title and description and image tags for thumbnails. This can be done by making basic GET requests to the URL. This method works when we just want to parse the meta tags and the page is rendered on the server.
In the left pane on your WordPress dashboard, click on “SEO,” then 'Social.” For the “Frontpage settings” section, click on “Upload” and upload the image you want to use. It is recommended that your picture is around 1200×630 pixels.
The most common reason for this is that an add-on or extension you have installed in your web browser (often Firefox) is blocking the photos being loaded from Facebook. You can check whether the issue is related to something in the web browser that you're using by just viewing the site in a different browser.
In edit post view, you will see your link in a thumbnail box, and top right corner of that box, there's a drop down arrow, don't select that. Go to the thumbnail image, touch that and you will see a different menus. Option to “Remove Link” / “Remove Thumbnail”.
The reason behind it is that Facebook loads the data from YouTube once it's shared on the platform for the first time. So if you share the video through Messenger before all the data is ready, it's going to be missing part of it, including the thumbnail.
Clear Your Internet Browser Cache
The next common cause for youtube thumbnails not showing is cache and cookies in your browser. In this case, you need to clear them. Thus, the “Clear browsing data” window will appear and tap on “clear data” (the blue square button). Then, the cache of your Chrome is cleared now.Steps
- Click your name. This tab is in the upper-right side of the Facebook page, directly to the right of the search bar.
- Select your current profile picture.
- Click Update Profile Picture.
- Click the pencil icon.
- Edit your profile picture's thumbnail.

If you are using Google Chrome, this is how I fixed the problem. Go to chrome://settings/, then go all the way down to the bottom of the page and click Show advanced settings Under Privacy click Content Settings Under Images click ?Show all images (recommended).
One of them and the most common is when you share the video on Facebook before it's fully processed by YouTube. It's possible to force Facebook to fetch the data again from YouTube. To do so, go to Facebook's Sharing Debugger, paste your video link, click debug, and finally press Scrape Again.
If the Facebook app will not let you upload video, you may have a problem with your phone's privacy settings. Other reasons for faulty uploads include uploading videos in a unsupported file type or Web browser, which can cause many problems, including extended encoding and processing wait times.
While links usually work on Facebook without a problem, the occasional glitch is inevitable. If one of your links is broken, the best course of action is to report it to the Facebook support page, where professional developers can view and fix the bug.
