1 Answer. As far as I know, you cannot unlearn a skill on a survivor. You can't "override" a skill by just using another textbook and there aren't any facilities or conversation with the option to dispose of a skill. Your only option will be to recruit a new survivor with an empty skill slot.
Yellow star skill specialties are ones that you are able to choose from because that survivor has a backstory trait that allows them that knowledge. However having a background that gives you that knowledge will give you access to the more powerful ones.

Gardening is one of the eight Community Skills that your survivor can have in the main game. Gardening allows the improvement of yield and the growing of meds at Gardens and Farms.
State of Decay 2 Maps Guide
The choices you have here are the foothills, the town on the plateau, or the town in the valley, and these form the three unique maps in the game.In State of Decay 2 every community member has a standing. It represents the amount of contribution you made with the given survivor for the survival of the community.
It can be provided by one of the survivor's Traits or can be taught to them with a Medicine Textbook. Medicine and it's specializations can be improved at Infirmaries and the Field Hospital with the appropriate Facility Actions, or by using Medicine Textbooks.
