Option 1: Trimming a video using Snagit
- Step 1: Record or open a video in Snagit. If you're capturing a screen recording, your video will automatically open in the editor when you're finished.
- Step 2: Select a portion of video to trim.
- Step 3: Click cut to remove the selected portion.
- Step 4: Save your trimmed video.
In Snagit Editor, click the Library button. The Library opens. Click a category in the Search pane to view the captures within that category.
From now on, any screenshots captured by Snagit will be automatically saved to the folder on your computer without opening them in Snagit Editor, you will not be asked to choose file name, choose file format or select a folder to save screenshots.
Snagit themes makes it easy to create and share a set of custom tool styles, called quick styles, to create consistency in your images. Set the theme colors so that shapes, arrows, and text always match your brand guidelines. To use Quick Style themes, select a drawing tool in the Snagit editor.
To open the Snagit Preferences:
- Windows: Select Capture window > File > Capture Preferences. Select Snagit Editor > Edit > Editor Preferences.
- Mac: Select Snagit Editor > Snagit > Preferences.
Solution
- Open Snagit capture.
- Select + > New Preset.
- Click Image.
- Select File under the Share dropdown. Optional: Select the Gear icon within the Share dropdown.
- Click Save Preset.
- Select the Capture Preset (with either the hotkey or preset) and click Capture.
If you are using a JPG or other file format, you'll need to adjust your background color in the Snagit editor first or it will default to white rather than transparent. To do this, simply click Image > Canvas Color (on Windows) or Image > Change Canvas Color…(on Mac).
To save your screen capture or video to your computer, choose the File option in the Share menu. This will allow you to choose a local file destination and file type. If you added callouts or made other edits to your screenshot and want to be able to edit them later, choose to save your file as a . snag (Win) or .
Snagit automatically saves all captures into the DataStore folder. The default location for this folder is: %LOCALAPPDATA%\TechSmith\Snagit\DataStore.
Select two or more images in the Snagit Editor > Image menu > Select Combine Images. When presented with the Combine Images menu, adjust the settings as needed for your desired appearance. Once the images have been combined into one, you can continue editing using Snagit's tools and effects.

How to Edit Screenshots
- Open a graphics editing program to edit your screenshot.
- Click "File," then click "Open" and select your screenshot.
Click and drag on the canvas to draw the text box • Type text in the text box • Click the cursor three times to select the text in the text box. The text editing options appear on the Text Edit tab. Change the font, color, formatting, or alignment on this tab.

- Open Snagit.
- In the Profile settings, click Capture Type > Properties > Scrolling tab.
- Uncheck the Use fastest scrolling method option. If that does not work, increase the scroll delay.
- Click Apply.
- In Snagit, click the Save button to save your changes to the capture profile.
Take a screenshot
- Press the Power and Volume down buttons at the same time.
- If that doesn't work, press and hold the Power button for a few seconds. Then tap Screenshot.
- If neither of these work, go to your phone manufacturer's support site for help.
