In the Outlands, Zira reminds Kovu that Simba killed Scar and exiled everyone who respected him. Later that night, Simba has a nightmare about attempting to save his father, Mufasa, from falling into the wildebeest stampede but is stopped by Scar who then morphs into Kovu and sends Simba to his death.
Simba only did what his uncle told him to do (stay at the gorge, practice his roar), and did nothing to kill his father.
Scar's final appearance in the film is when he is defeated by Simba and thrown off the edge of Pride Rock into the flames below, where he is betrayed and killed by his own minions; the hyenas.
"Simba you must run. Run quickly, back to Pride Rock and tell your mother." Mufasa interrupted, speaking firmly.
Sarabi Died of InfectionGiven that multiple months would have passed between Simba reclaiming the throne and the birth of his first cub, it is entirely possible that Sarabi had a wound that got too infected for even Rafiki to fix and said infection killed her before the end of TLK.
Simba finds his father's corpse at the bottom of the gorge and attempts to revive him. When he realizes Mufasa is dead, he cries. Scar convinces Simba that his father's death is all his fault. He tells Simba to run away before anyone finds out.
But Scar, Simba's evil uncle, plots the assassination of Mufasa. So, Simba runs away, making Scar the one who will become king and inherit Mufasa's power. The call is forced since Simba is forced to run away because of the shame he believes has brought to the Pride Lands and because he thinks he is guilty of murder.
Zazu : Well, sorry to bust the old bubble, but you two turtledoves have no choice. It's a tradition going back generations. Young Simba : Well, when I'm king, that'll be the first thing to go.
Before they can do so, King Ahadi, father of Taka and Mufasa, appears with a large herd of animals that surrounds the Buffaloes. It was during this attack that Taka got a scar on his eye, and renamed himself "Scar", as a reminder of his mistake, explaining his cruel name.
Despite a long-persisting rumor (and many, many Internet articles), The Lion King's Pride Rock is not based on a real-life counterpart in Hell's Gate National Park in Kenya. Many people try to say, 'Pride Rock is based on this mountain here,' but they are wrong. An artist in Burbank invented Pride Rock."
Three chief reasons maybe. 1) Mufasa is seen as a dynamic, strong, loving character. 2) His death was violently tragic. 3) Simba was heartbroken and the audience empathizes with him.
A grub. What's it look like? Tastes like chicken.
So considering Simba's age as a cub when he left was probably around 5 or 6 months old or so. That would put his exile at around 3 1/2 years.
Scar says this to Mufasa as he throws Mufasa to his death when he could have been saved by Scar. “Long live the king” is a traditional proclamation announced after the death of one king, and the subsequent coronation of the new (Accession Council).

Nobody knows the trouble I've seen…Nobody knows my sorrow. As you go through life, you will see that there is so much that we don't understand. And the only thing we know is things don't always go the way we plan. You have forgotten who you are and so have forgotten me.
But of course, Scar is the one who orchestrated the stampede in the first place—and so, after sinking his claws into his brother's paws, the film's villain murmurs four immortal words: “Long live the king.” With that, he pushes Mufasa to plummet to his doom.
In my opinion, Scar is the most evil Disney Villain out there. He not only set an entire plan to murder his own brother just to take over Pride Rock as King, but he also placed the entire blame on his own nephew. (And then sent the hyenas out to murder him too.)
Mufasa's Ghost: Remember who you are. You are my son and the one true king. While Mufasa's ghost is technically telling Simba to avenge him, he didn't want Simba to go back to the Pride Lands with vengeance in his heart.
Mufasa's Ghost : You have forgotten who you are and so have forgotten me. Look inside yourself Simba. You are more than what you have become. You must take your place in the Circle of life.
The death of the king is one of the most iconic moments in all of Disney: after saving son Simba from a stampede of wildebeest, Mufasa is sent falling to his death by scheming brother Scar. And, more strikingly, instead of gorging his claws into his brother's paws, Scar hits Mufasa in the face to send him flying.
