You can become a citizen of Iceland in one of three ways:

The average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in the city is around 190,000 ISK, or approximately €1,400. Iceland uses the standard Europlug socket with two round prongs. For these plugs, you can use adapter types “C” or “F”. These are often labelled as a Northern Europe adapter. If you are visiting Iceland from overseas, we do not recommend bringing a hair dryer.
Iceland has prepaid SIM cards available for tourists, with reasonable offers at around ISK1,500 (US$12.60) per GB. Although this might sound a little on the expensive side, it will certainly work out cheaper than roaming on your home phone there.

You can buy Siminn SIM cards in all Icelandair flights, at the shop to the right when you walk through customs in the arrivals hall. Also in all gas stations around the country. We stopped in at the duty free shop on arrival to purchase a SIM card.
Despite the complicated name, it's basically your phone number. They can also store contact information, telephone numbers, SMS messages, billing information and data usage. Plus, your SIM will have a personal identification number (PIN) to protect against theft.
