Usually, the Post Office closes its doors on bank holidays. Selected local branches inside convenience stores may be open, however. Most branches will be open over the weekend between the hours of 8am and 7pm.
Courier companies won't deliver or collect packages on this day in countries where Good Friday is considered a holiday. Courier services are not overbooked only around Christmas and Easter holidays, but also in other peak seasons.

We aim to deliver to addresses in urban areas by 3pm every working day and addresses in rural areas by 4pm every working day (exceptions are made for remote areas with limited transport links such as the Highlands and Islands of Scotland).
You could contact your local post office for an estimate of when they make their rounds around your area. If a package has a tracking number it is often sent to the customer so they can track it online. Mail carriers usually deliver their route the same way every day.
While we continued to provide a letter delivery service from Monday to Friday as normal, we temporarily no longer delivered letters on a Saturday.
In most of the world, the workweek is from Monday to Friday and the weekend is Saturday and Sunday, but other divisions exist: for example, many countries observe a Sunday to Thursday or even Monday to Thursday working week. A weekday or workday is any day of the working week.
The Royal Mail operates on a traditional schedule of Monday to Saturday, generally not delivering Mail on a Sunday, closing with most banks. The new move saw only a small portion of roughly 600 branches open from 12pm until 4pm, but was for collection rather than deliveries.
I have sent parcels using Royal Mail international Standard and IM tracked and both are taking far longer than the RM stated delivery times. Tracking shows that the majority of packages hit the states within 3 days. From there it is taking anything upto 15+days for items to get to customers!
Royal Mail is facing its first national postal strike in a decade after staff voted overwhelmingly for action. The dispute between workers and the firm is over job security and terms and conditions of employment. More than 97% of votes by members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) backed a strike.
The Post Office will not be making any collections or deliveries over Good Friday, or Easter Monday, meaning many local branches will be closed then too. However, as is typical on Sundays in most of the UK, there won't be any letters or parcels arriving on Easter Sunday, 12 April.
