Unlike today's Jeep Wrangler, the Roxor is about as back to basics of a truck as you can get. It has a steel frame, solid axles, leaf springs a five-speed manual transmission, a two-speed transfer case and a top speed of 45 mph. If that sounds too slow for the highway, it is.

Mahindra is able to do so by manufacturing the Roxor in India before assembling it in the U.S. Plus, unlike the Wrangler, the Roxor isn't actually street-legal. Despite its Jeep-like bodywork, it's a side-by-side like the Polaris RZR or the Can-Am Maverick, so it doesn't have to meet expensive safety requirements.
The Roxor is powered by the Mahindra M2DICR 2.5 L (150 cu in) direct-injected turbodiesel engine that Mahindra claims produces 63 bhp (47 kW) @ 3,200 and 144 lb⋅ft (195 N⋅m) torque at 1,400 rpm.
For now, the automaker is working on introducing itself to would-be American buyers. The Roxor isn't on any U.S. highway — at least not legally. It was meant to test the U.S. appetite for Mahindra's product.
With a price of just under $15,500, it's hard to see why you wouldn't buy two of these instead of a Wrangler-that is until you realize it has a top speed of 45 mph and it can't be driven it on public roads. That's right. This, legally, is a side-by-side. Mahindra is making a big play for North America.

Mahindra has made off-road vehicles in jeep(GP) pattern since a 1947 contract with Willys to build such vehicles for Indian market. The Roxor was announced in November 2017 and began sales on March 2, 2018. In the United States it is an off-highway side-by-side (SxS).
The Roxor makes 62 horsepower, which isn't much to write home about, but an impressive 144 pound-feet of torque. Its steel frame gives it a monumental (for a UTV) 3,490 lbs of towing capacity, and ruggedly traditional solid axles and leaf springs are anachronistic but surprisingly effective.

Mahindra is one of a handful of European and Asian automakers gearing up to enter the U.S. market in hopes of gaining sales as well as credibility that can boost their brands at home.
Firstly, you should not buy a jeep if you have doubts in your mind. The thar is just a MM 540 with a IFS and a 2.6 crde engine (from the scorpio). You may have a thar only as a second or third vehicle in the garage. The interiors are spartan and even hatchbacks costing 3 lakhs have better interior and fit and finish.

The Mahindra Thar is a compact and mid-size four-wheel drive off-road Jeep CJ-like SUV manufactured by Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra Limited. The vehicle was launched in the Indian market on October 4, 2010 to fill the void left by its predecessor the Mahindra MM540.
The Roxor is assembled at Mahindra's 150,000 sq ft (14,000 m2) factory that opened in March 2018 in Auburn Hills, outside Detroit, Michigan. Mahindra is the first new automaker to open a manufacturing operation in the Detroit area in almost 30 years.

The vehicles, which use body panels, axles and engines imported from India, are built entirely by hand in a process that's probably like what Mahindra did in 1947, when it signed its first license to build Willys Jeeps.
A couple major points are in Mississippi's laws for all-terrain vehicles. The biggest are that you cannot use them on public roadways and children must wear a helmet. Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Ray Hall said ATVs are illegal on the highways because they do not meet the safety standards of vehicles. Miss.
