First, there is no due process when a car is booted. A normal parking ticket can be contested before any fine is paid, but a booting cannot be contested in a practical way. Further, in many jurisdictions, even if found innocent of a parking violation, it can be nearly impossible to get the boot removal fee refunded.

To operate it, the user places the heel of the boot in the mouth of the jack, stands on the back of the device with the other foot, and pulls his foot free of the front boot. The process is then repeated to remove the other boot. The boot jack has several advantages over the removal of boots by hand.
Estate cars are usually based on saloons or hatchbacks and tend to be a little longer than the cars on which they're based. The obvious advantage is the increased boot space over an equivalent saloon but, for some fans, the longer roof afforded by estates makes them more desirable than other options.
To get the boot off, call the toll-free phone number on the boot notice (646-517-1000) and give the customer service representative your debit/credit card number. You will then receive a release code. Once you enter the code, the boot will unlock and you can remove it.
