You have to apply for improvement in the same manner as for appearing at the first chance examination and pay the required fee. This chance can be availed only once within the five years of admission. For subjects involving Practicals you have to appear in both Theory and practicals for improvement in the performance.

Yes you can apply in both boards simultaneously in 2016. it is possible but the main thing you need to remember that you cannot use the both marksheet at same time means its not possible to take admission in another college from CBSE marksheet and another one from NIOS marksheet its an illegal process.
