Open Snipping Tool
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Search (or if you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then select Search), type snipping tool in the search box, and then select Snipping Tool from the list of results.Snipping tool is only included with Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows Vista. If you can not find it, you can alternatively download the free tool Capture Screenshot lite which looks the same and works pretty much the same.
You can also launch Snipping Tool by using the Run window. Open Run (simultaneously press the Windows + R keys), type snippingtool in the Open field and then click on OK. Alternatively, you can run the executable called SnippingTool.exe found in the "C:WindowsSystem32" folder.
Adding the Windows10 "Snipping Tool" to your Taskbar
- Click the magnifying glass icon in the lower left corner of your screen, which will open the search menu.
- As you type, the results will appear on top.
- Right-click on the best match of "Snipping Tool", then choose "Pin to Taskbar":

To save the image, you have to click on the Save Snip button An extra feature in Windows 8 is that the full screen shots are automatically saved in your Pictures folder.

Depending on the size of the user's screen, a screenshot may not be able to capture an entire window — especially if you need to scroll to capture the entire window. Some snipping tools include ability to screenshot a scrolling screen; scrolls can be captured vertically or horizontally.
The Snipping tool opens using the shortcut key (in my case Ctrl + Shift + S , and immediately opens "rectangular select" mode.
Use the Snip Tool to take pictures of your PDF document.
- Open the PDF document that you want to take a snip from.
- Switch to Edit Mode by clicking on the edit icon.
- Right-click on the PDF document to pull up the right-click menu.

Solution
- Start > search for Snipping Tool or select the Snipping Tool icon on the taskbar (as shown in the following image).
- Click Delay (located on top menu bar) in the Snipping Tool.
- Choose the number of seconds to wait until the screenshot is taken.
Keyboard only
- To open Snipping Tool, press the Start key,? ??type snipping tool, and then press Enter. (
- To choose the type of snip you want, press Alt + M keys and then use the arrow keys to choose Free-form, Rectangular, Window, or Full-screen Snip, and then press Enter.
Install or Enable Snipping Tool in Windows 7 & Vista
- Click on the Start button, and go to Control Panel.
- Click on Programs link.
- Click on Turn Windows features on or off link.
- Scroll down the list of features in Windows Features dialog window, tick the check box for Tablet-PC Optional Components to enable and show the Snipping Tool in Vista.
- Click OK when done.
Hold down the power and volume-down buttons for a couple of seconds. Hold down the power key until a screen appears and tap Take screenshot.
