From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon. Find and tap Settings > Dual SIM/Dual SIM settings.
- Make sure you have inserted both SIM cards.
- Find and tap Settings > Network & Internet > SIM cards or Dual SIM.
- Drag the sliders beside SIM1 and SIM2 to the right.
First of all, you should know that sony Xperia z1 has nearly 4+ models of all those only 3 models supports 4G. I have highlighted the models above if the one which you have falls among these, then you can use a 4G sim without a need to do any extra configuration just like other 4G phones.
Switch between 3G/4G - Sony Xperia Z

- Select Mobile networks.
- Select Network Mode.
- Select LTE (preferred)/WCDMA/GSM to enable 4G.
- Select WCDMA (preferred)/GSM to enable 3G.
To turn data traffic on or off
- From your Home screen, tap .
- Find and tap Settings > Data usage.
- Tap the Mobile data slider to turn data traffic on or off.
How to connect to Wi-Fi on my Sony Xperia Z
- Touch Applications.
- Touch Settings.
- If Wi-Fi is off, touch the Wi-Fi slider to turn it on.
- Touch Wi-Fi.
- Touch the Wi-Fi network you want to use.
- Enter the network password.
- Touch Connect.
- The phone is connected to the Wi-Fi network.
1.Find "Data usage"
- Slide two fingers downwards starting from the top the screen.
- Press the settings icon.
- Press Data usage.
- Press the indicator next to "Mobile data" to turn the function on or off.
- Press the Home key to return to the home screen.
Restart your device, and then turn Wi-Fi® off and then on again. Restart the router. Check that your router is Wi-Fi® certified. Your device is Wi-Fi® certified, so if the router isn't, your devices may not communicate properly.
Turn Data On / Off - Sony Xperia® Z3v
- From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon. > Settings > Data usage.
- Tap the Mobile data switch to turn data access over the mobile network on or off .
To do this, go to settings and tap on “Wireless Networks” or “Connections.” From there, switch on Airplane mode and turn off your phone. Wait for half a minute and then turn your mobile phone back on. Go to the same settings section and turn off Airplane mode. After that, check if your mobile data is working again.
Before rebooting, turn on Airplane Mode. Wait for 30 seconds, then turn Airplane Mode off. If you still don't have data, turn airplane mode back on, turn your phone off, wait for a minute, turn your phone back on, turn airplane mode off, wait for thirty seconds, then turn mobile data on.
When you keep your mobile data on then it effects your battery and the background apps which go on syncing. When your mobile data is on, your location is at high accuracy, which again drains your battery life. Settings/Data usage/Apps.
Paths can differ slightly depending your Android version and phone manufacturer, but you can usually enable Airplane mode by going to Settings > Wireless & networks > Airplane mode. Turn it on for at least a couple of seconds, then disable it. In a lot of cases your LTE connection issues will be gone.
You can limit your data usage by turning off mobile data. You'll then not be able to access the internet using the mobile network. You can still use Wi-Fi even though mobile data is turned off.
