“Single tickets also expire in seven days and people are having issues with that because you're potentially wasting money.” The seven-day expiry of single-use tickets is an issue many Calgarians have expressed concern with, but Calgary Transit says it's in place as a safeguard for customers.
A one-way fare to access Calgary Transit's bus and train network is C$3.15 for an adult, C$2.10 for a youth (age 6-17), and free for children under 6 (as of Jan 2015). A day pass, good for travel on the whole system for a full day, is C$9.50 for adults, C$6.75 for youths. The fare is a flat rate.

How to Use Calgary Transit My Fare App
- Download My Fare for free from Google Play Store. Note that as of July 2, the app is still in the process of being approved by the App Store for iOS (Apple) devices;
- Install the app, and complete a one-time account setup (optional) using your myID account;
- Select “Buy Ticket” and choose your ticket type.

Buying & Loading an R-cardYou first Senior and Discount cards are issued at the Transit Information Centre Downtown or the Transit Operations Centre.
Where can I purchase a new MyRide card? MyRide cards can be purchased at Transit Customer Service in Sorensen Station downtown.

UK issued contactless payment cards are accepted, just look out for the contactless symbol. If you're visiting London from overseas then you will need to check if your card will be accepted first.

Simply show up at the train station or bus stop, pay your fare (in the machine for CTrains, and to the driver for buses), and enjoy your ride!
Transit riders can buy a ticket through the app on their phone. The ticket gets added to your ticket wallet, which riders then scan using a device on the CTrain or on a bus to activate their fare.
Use a pass or ticket

“We're going back to the future and we are piloting electric buses in this city starting in 2022,” said Ethan Askey, manager of Sustainability Strategy for Transportation at the City of Calgary. The buses will smaller than the ones used in Edmonton, which are 40 foot.
