Spotify is beta testing Canvas, a new feature which allows artists and labels to add a fullscreen, 3-8 second moving visual to tracks. It replaces cover art and will loop in the Now Playing view of the Spotify app.
Spotify Premium currently costs $9.99 per month and $4.99 for students. What do you get with a Spotify Premium membership, and how is the price changing?
For Android Auto, start your car, plug your phone into the USB port, and play Spotify. Check out Spotify Everywhere to see if your car offers the Spotify app built into the dashboard. Just to note, some cars require Spotify Premium for integrated listening.

The approximate breakdown for data usage for each option of sound quality (except automatic) is as follows:
- Normal – 40MB/hour.
- High – 70MB/hour.
- Extreme – 150MB/hour.
How to set up Android Auto to auto-launch on your phone when you get in your car
- Download and install the Android Auto app on your phone.
- Plug your Bluetooth FM Transmitter in your car and pair with your phone.
- Launch Android Auto.
- Tap Settings.
- Swipe up to scroll down.
Permanently disable driving mode on stock Android.
Open Settings. , then search for "driving" or "do not disturb". Select the setting which pertains to driving mode automatically activating while in a car. Turn off the setting.Since change isn't always met with open arms, it's nice that Spotify is allowing users to opt out. Right now the feature is only available for devices that connect through Bluetooth. An AUX cable connection is not supported. The new Now Playing view mode also supports landscape mode.
This allows Waze users to begin navigating to their destination right inside the Spotify app on iOS, and also allows complete access to Spotify playlists from the Waze app when navigating. It lets users skip tracks, play and pause and more.

How to download music from Spotify on your phone
- Launch the Spotify app on your iPhone or Android device and log into your Spotify Premium account.
- Tap on "Your Library," located in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- In the playlist, tap the "Download" button so that the toggle turns green.

- Click Log In at the top-right of Spotify's website.
- In the pop-up window that appears, enter either your Facebook details or your Spotify username and password in the fields provided and click Log In.

How to pay for Spotify Premium in the iOS app
- Head to Spotify's website and log in with your credentials (or sign up)
- Tap the 3 line icon in the top right corner.
- Tap either Premium or Upgrade.
- Tap Start Free Trial.
- Enter your credit or debit card info, then click Start 30-Day Trial Now.
How much data does Spotify use per song? At the default setting on Spotify on your mobile phone, you'd be using 2MB+ data per 3-minute song. This quickly adds up to 40MB per hour, and half gigabyte every 10 hours.
You can use Spotify for free, but its features are limited. With the Spotify free plan, you can access all playlists, discover new music and share tunes with friends. You can also play any playlist, album, or artist but only while in Shuffle Play mode.
From the Your Library tab, tap the Settings icon in the top right and select Playback. Tap the Offline toggle to put Spotify in Offline Mode. Now when you use Spotify, you'll only be able to play the songs you've downloaded. If you use Search, it will only return songs that are on your device.
