Depending on the circumstance, there are a few ways to keep your iPhone from automatically playing audio you don't want to hear.
- Add a silent track to your music library.
- Tell Siri to stop.
- Force quit the Music (or any other) app.
- Turn off CarPlay.
- Turn off CarPlay in iOS 12.
- Turn off Cellular Data.
To accomplish this, log into your Facebook account and go to your settings via the arrow in the top right corner. SettingsTip: This option is only available on computers, not in the mobile version. Within your settings, you'll find an option for Video on the left-hand side, towards the bottom.

When you open your queue and see your Playing Next list, you'll notice the Autoplay icon (infinity loop). Tap it to enable this mode. You'll know that Autoplay mode is on when the background of the icon is highlighted.
Tap the autoplay option that appears. You can either choose to enable videos while you're on cellular and Wi-Fi, on Wi-Fi only, or to disable them entirely.
To allow auto-playing on other sites, you need to head to that site,then click click Safari > Settings for This Website in the menu bar. This will bring up a window that allows you to toggle site-specific preferences, including autoplaying videos.
When Auto-Play Message Effects is on, bubble effects and full-screen effects play automatically. You can turn this feature off and manually play the effect. Just tap under the message.
Disable autoplaying for videos in Instagram
- Launch Instagram and navigate to your profile page.
- From there, tap on the Settings gear (iOS) or the three dots (Android) in the top-right corner.
- Scroll down to the Preferences section, find the "Auto-Play Videos" option, and uncheck the box.
To turn off autocorrect:
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap General.
- Tap Keyboard.
- Toggle the option for “Auto-Correction” so that it's off.
Click the menu button on the bottom of your screen. Once you're there, tap “Settings & Privacy,” then “Settings.” Scroll down until you find “Media and Contacts,” then tap “Videos and Photos.” Finally, once you find “Autoplay,” you can turn off the feature.
