Unfortunately, they also said the next PC-side patch would negate the multiplayer sync.

Gearbox Software has announced that Borderlands 3 will be cross-play between Steam and Epic Games Store. Gamers absolutely love cross-play support for their titles, as it opens up a whole new realm of enjoyment when gamers can enjoy the game they love with people from other platforms.
No you can't join games from other consoles. You can only cross save, that is share save files between consoles.
Badass rank and the bonuses you pick carry over, and it's never a bad thing. Challenges do not carry over. You can do them again on new characters to earn more badass ranks.

During the Gearbox PAX East 2020 livestream, Gearbox shared the news that Borderlands 3 was coming to Steam on March 13. In addition, it will have full cross-play with the Epic Games Store version, so PC players can all loot and shoot together.
Basically, it means that those who have purchased the game from Epic Games Store will be able to play with users on Steam. It doesn't matter if you purchased the game from Epic or Steam Store. It's possible that the team will enable cross-play between Steam, Epic Games Store, PS4 and Xbox One all together in 2020.
After nearly six months, Borderlands 3 is finally making its way onto Steam. Starting on March 13, Steam users will be able to shoot and loot to their heart's content. The move to Steam won't be just a hard launch without any bells and/or whistles. Gearbox is offering all sorts of support, for both Steam and EGS users.
You can't share or transfer this license, thus the platform you buy it own is the platform you play it on. Some games do not have DRM/Internet Connection, thus no way to check that it was bought through Steam or Epic. You just have to add non steam game on your library.

A lot of games with autosaves still offer the ability to manually save as well, with people liking that option either as a way to ensure you are definitely saving at a particular spot or like having multiple saves to go back too. However, Borderlands 3 sadly does not offer this option at this time.
The default save location for Borderlands 3 is in your Documents folder. Specifically at DocumentsMy GamesBorderlands 3SavedSaveGames. Inside, you will find folders, with each of them representing your characters in-game.
To get the save back, you can right-click on on the Folder the saves are in (the string of numbers) and select Properties. Select the Previous Version tab, which is the second to last tab. Select the previous version you need based on the time and date, then choose open, copy, or restore.
Duplicating Character saves. Naivgate to *%USERPROFILE%DocumentsMy GamesBorderlands 2WillowGameSaveData* and then to the folder named with a string of numbers. That's where your save files are and they are named SaveNNNN. sav where NNNN is a four-digit number.
Borderlands 3 Saves

If you buy Modern Warfare on Xbox or PC, at release can you play the game on the other system? Nope, you have to purchase it twice unfortunately.
How to save game data to a USB drive on an Xbox One
- Go to the Xbox Home section of your Xbox.
- Navigate through the menus until you find the settings menu.
- Select the option titled System.
- From here you should see another option titled storage, select this option.

Yes you can. You'll need to move your saves to a USB device, or buy a transfer device for your hdd. Once you've done that you'll need a few programs on your PC. Under games and borderlands 2 you'll find your saves.
First, there's streaming. As long as your Xbox One and Windows 10 PC are connected to the same wi-fi network, meaning you're in (or around) the same house, you can stream all your Xbox One games on your Windows 10 PC. To do this, you'll need to own a digital copy of the game (not a physical disc).
Data transfer is automatic
Your game saves, DLC and other data are all saved on Xbox Live, so you should be good to go. As long as you're signed in with the same Microsoft account on both the Xbox One and your PC, you can transfer seamlessly. Note, however, that you can use only one platform at a time.If you clear that save game storage, this storage is cleared. If the console was connected online, your savegames are already synced to the cloud, and will be re-downloaded the next time you start a game. It will delete the local COPY of your savegame from the console.
