If you left a group chat and wish to rejoin, the group admin will need to re-invite you to the group chat. If you were the only admin in the group and left the group chat, another participant was chosen at random to become the new admin. You can ask this person to re-invite you to the group chat.

How to change group privacy settings

How to stop WhatsApp Group Participants from Sending messages

Whatsapp allows you to hide your profile photo, status and last seen from strangers if you turn it on as part of there policy.
