A WAN port is used to connect to an internet source, such as a broadband modem. The WAN allows the router to connect to the internet and share that connection with all the Ethernet-ready devices connected to it.
Port forwarding usually means leaving a gap in your security. This can potentially be dangerous because hackers could also use this to penetrate your network. That's why most websites won't recommend you to open ports if you don't know what you're doing.
IPv6 does away with the need for NAT, port forwarding, and the lot and allows every device to have its own public IP and associated ports. It removes complicated port forwarding rules and methods for punching holes in firewalls. It removes all the network coexistence problems that plague current devices.
In order for port forwarding to work, you'll need to set a static internal IP address (ipv4) for your device. By default, your ipv4 address is probably dynamic, which means it's always changing, so the port forwarding won't be able to pin down your device on your home network.
The bottom line is that you have multiple devices on your network who want to use the same ports. And unfortunately, you can only port forward the necessary ports to one of those nodes because you can only forward a given port to one IP address in your local network. In other words, one port per IP address.
How to port forwarding of BSNL GPON ONT Router
- Step1: Open any Browser and type 192.168.
- Step2: It will open a window ask for a User name and password.
- Step 3: After Entering ONT console go to Advanced -> Port Forwarding like below.
- IP as PC, DVR Camera etc and tick on check box Enable and Apply.
- Step4: Again go to Advanced -> Firewall and Enable DMZ.
Set the Internet Gateway of router 2 to router 1's IP address. Connect the two routers using a wired connection from any of port 1-4 in router 1 to any of port 1-4 in router 2. You can use a Wireless Media Bridge or Powerline Ethernet Kit to create a wired connection. DO NOT use router 2's WAN port.

Step 3: Activate Modem Online

If the router is flashing the colors blue and white, it means the router is trying to connect to the internet and the router is ready to be paired. The blinking in blue and white happens only if you are setting up your router for the first time or if you have pressed the Reset button.

As bill001g stated, all ports are closed by default unless a program tells Windows ( and/or your firewall) to open them. You could try resetting your router, but another option would be to uninstall and reinstall one of the problem apps to see if they re-open the port(s) needed.
There is nothing insecure about port 80 being open. Security issues only occur when the web server is serving requests over an unencrypted connection, especially if those requests contain sensitive data. Having port 80 be open and send nothing more than an HTTP redirect (301) is perfectly safe.
To open port 80
- From the Start menu, click Control Panel, click System and Security, and then click Windows Firewall.
- Click Advanced Settings.
- Click Inbound Rules.
- Click New Rule in the Actions window.
- Click Rule Type of Port.
- Click Next.
- On the Protocol and Ports page click TCP.
Head over to your router's settings. Enter your credentials (device username and password). Look around for the Port Forwarding tab. On the Port Forwarding tab, enter your device's name and open your preferred port—for example, type 8080 to open port 8080.
How to unblock ports
- Click Start.
- Type Control Panel and press Enter.
- Click System and Security.
- Click Windows Firewall.
- Select Advanced settings, and then select Inbound Rules in the left pane.
- Right-click Inbound Rules, and then select New Rule.
- Select Port, and then click Next.
- Select TCP as the protocol to apply the rule.
Follow below steps to check if UDP port is open or closed:
- Open a packet sniffer.
- Send a User Datagram Protocol (UDP) packet.
- After sending the UDP packet, if you receive 'ICMP port unreachable' message, then the UDP port is closed.
- If not, then the UDP port is open or something is blocking the ICMP.
Conclusion. As you can see setting up port forwarding rules isn't really difficult. Al you need to do is give your internal device a static Ip Address and forward the correct port numbers to the new Ip Address.
It will not matter what way you connect to your router, you will still need to port forward. This is because your router is performing NAT to pass information between your internal network to your ISP. This means ALL ports from your router will be forwarded to you pc.
Set Up Port Forwarding

After completing port forwarding, go to to check if port 25565 is open. If it is, you will see a “Success!” message.
