ACIS is a solid modeling technology. For example, ACIS represents a cube as a single object or shape with 6 sides. A polymesh is a 3D shape consisting of multiple polygons that are meshed (joined) together. For example, a polymesh cube consists of 6 square surfaces that are joined together to form the cube shape.
You can explode imported DWG 3D solid (not Polymesh) geometry in the Family Editor environment.
- Select the import symbol.
- Click Modify | Imports in Families tab Import Instance panel Explode drop-down (Partial Explode) or (Full Explode). The 3D solids are now preserved as free form elements.
Can I export multiple views or sheets in Revit? Yes you can. On exporting to AutoCAD or DWF, “Râ€>Export>CAD Formats, on the Export option, change this to “In session views/sheet setâ€, under show in list, choose the views to export by ticking the relevant views.
With the Revit model open, Click the Application Menu (“Big Râ€) > “Export†> “CAD Formats†> Select “DWG“. In the “DWG Export†dialog box – Click on the ellipsis (button with 3 dots) to open the “Modify DWG/DXF Export Setup†dialog box.
Rotate your 3D view (or place camera) in the position you want to have your view in 2D. Place the view on the sheet (you can use empty sheet so you won't need to delete tables later) and keep the sheet view active. Go to “Râ€>Export>CAD Formats>DWG (you can use DXF as well). Adjust settings if needed and click Next.
To open the section view, double-click the section header, or select the section view from the Sections grouping of the Project Browser. The section view changes when the design changes or the section line is moved.
