The iconic Brompton bike was designed by Andrew Ritchie in 1975. The bikes have always been manufactured in London. In the early 1990s Brompton licensed its designs to Euro-Tai of Taiwan, and a joint venture company – Neobike – was formed to manufacture the bikes and distribute them in Asia.

ERG mode is a setting in training platforms such as Zwift, TrainerRoad and Sufferfest that fixes your power output by automatically adjusting your resistance to match your cadence. Power is a calculation of torque (how hard you're pressing on the pedals) multiplied by cadence (how fast they are turning).
Now the Tacx NEO 2T (like the rest of the Tacx NEO series), doesn't support any type of calibration. Nor does it need it, in fact, you can't even do a calibration if you wanted to.
Riding on Zwift can feel more difficult for 3 reasons mainly: the human body becomes less efficient at cooling itself, your motivation dwindles due to not having the wind in your hair and the road moving underneath you, and overcoming the resistance of a trainer is very different compared to overcoming the resistance
The NEO 2 and NEO 2T are both equipped with a contactless, capacitive sensor that is used to measure your cadence (RPM). This also enables the unique pedal stroke analysis features within the Tacx Desktop app (on Windows). While you're cycling the crank end passes by the sensor, measuring your cadence.
NEO Series Smart trainers measure your cadence from the non-drive side crank arm of the bike without the help of a sensor. The trainer constantly measures your speed and uses this to determine your cadence. The speed is zero at the top of the pedal stroke and it is maximal in between.
8-14 hours/wk use for the last 4-5 years, (plus however long the previous owner used it) nothing more annoying than it occasionally heats up/eats a tyre. I've also put a few hundred hours a year on my CompuTrainer over the past five years and it's still going strong.
The Neo 2T works without power. Its internal battery does everything needed to allow the trainer to work without a power source. When using Zwift, or the Tacx app, the magnets in the drive mechanism can mimic riding on both cobbles and gravel.
Make sure your bike trainer is plugged in and awake.Make sure it is plugged into power and awake. You might need to start pedaling to wake up your trainer. Some bike trainers self-generate power like the Tacx NEO. Pedaling should wake up the trainer.
You really shouldn't be going from side to side when standing up. It's easy to do, but it's not good technique. As uncomfortable as it may seem at first, you need to learn to stand in the saddle on a trainer without rocking the bike. After a while, it won't be a big deal, and you'll be a better rider for it.
While we're talking about the cost, it's worth bearing in mind that you don't need a smart trainer to ride on Zwift. A smart trainer transmits your power data and can change the resistance so you can feel virtual hills, but you can use a supported classic trainer and a speed sensor instead.
The Wahoo Fitness KICKR Climb “Indoor Grade Simulator†is a product that makes little sense on paper. It also only works with the latest Wahoo Fitness trainers; Tacx, CycleOps, Elite, and other owners need not apply.
NEO 2T Smart trainer does not come with a cassette but does come with a Shimano/SRAM cassette body. We recommend a new cassette and preferably a new chain to reduce noise levels and improve your cycling experience.
Released in September 2019, the Neo 2T is the latest version of Tacx's flagship trainer.
WHAT IS ERG MODE? ERG mode is basically a function where a smart trainer, like the KICKR or Tacx NEO, sets your resistance for you to match your goal wattage rather than leaving this on your shoulder. If you keep your eyes on your watts while in ERG mode, you will notice your watts go above and below the target line.
Not included is the cassette, so you'll need to supply your own, and you'll also need to supply your own chain whip and lockring tool to attach it. The Flux S is immediately compatible with Shimano and SRAM cassettes from eight- to 11-speed, and you can buy a SRAM XDR driver or Campagnolo-compatible body separately.
Overall, the Wahoo Kickr Core is one of the most accurate mid-level direct-drive smart trainers on the market, with a high-tech flywheel and Wahoo accessories to make virtual training feel as real as possible.
We like all Tacx models, but here are some of the biggest differences between the high-end Neo 2T and the midrange Flux 2. The Neo 2T can handle 2,200 watts, while the Flux 2 can handle 2,000. You might not need all of those watts, but what this tells you is that the 2T has the heavier, more stable flywheel.
You will have to buy a cassette for it though, but that applies to most units apart from Wahoo's Kickr, and the low stance means you don't need a wheel block for a standard 700c wheeled bike.
The Flux 2 simulates inclines of up to 16% (no descent simulation) and the larger flywheel — than the Flux S — will give you resistance that feels a bit more like the road. The Flux S, by the way, can simulate an incline of up to 10%. The footprint of both Flux models is identical.
It's got a 6kg flywheel, which is on the better side of middle of the road. Tacx does a simulated flywheel weight of 25KG however, which is substantially bigger than others, once accounted for. In the case of the Flux/Flux S (and also the Elite Direto in this same boat), the road-like feel is good, but not fantastic.
All the Tacx Smart trainers are measuring Speed, Cadence and Power.
Note that the Tacx Flux series does require power for resistance. So you can't use it sans-power and get any resistance. Once plugged in, on the side of the unit you'll see three LED status lights illuminated. These are for general power, then one for ANT+ & Bluetooth Smart connectivity.
All Tacx Smart trainers are compatible with Zwift and can be connected using bluetooth low energy (BLE) or an ANT+ antenna (see Zwift Support - Pairing Your Devices for more details). This trainer only works with the Tacx Training app.
