To take advantage of your card's extended warranty policy, you generally need to supply these records with the completed claim form:
- Original store receipt.
- Account statement showing credit card purchase.
- Copy of manufacturer's warranty.
- Other warranty or service plan policies, if applicable.
Purchase protection is a common credit card feature that allows consumers to file a claim with their network on eligible damaged or stolen items for replacement, repair, or reimbursement. Major credit card networks, such as Mastercard and VISA, for example, have different policies for purchase protection.
Many credit cards include the Visa Signature name, but it's not always clear what makes them different from a standard Visa card. Visa Signature is a tier of credit card that includes perks above and beyond those normally offered to Visa cardholders.

Warranty managers work for companies which manufacture or distribute material goods for consumers, as well as companies which offer third-party warranties. Often, warranties are offered to customers at the time of purchase and guarantee that the item will work at least until a certain time-period is over.

It allows you to get a full refund from your credit issuer on single purchases that cost between £100 and £30,000 and comes with any type of credit card.
A number of credit card companies like American Express, Chase, and Capital One provide extended warranties for Apple products if you pay for the entire product with the card. Surprisingly, Apple Card offers no such benefit to its cardholders.
Visa is the trickiest. It only offers a warranty extension on its "signature" cards, but on those, it will extend the warranty (up to one year) on warranties of three years or less, according to its website.
Due to Citi recently cutting benefits across its entire range of rewards cards, extended warranty cover is no longer offered on the Citi®Double Cash Card. Up to 12 months extended warranty protection - Applies only to Amex cards charging an annual fee. For a warranty of 1-5 years warranty is extended 1 year.
For warranties between two and five years, American Express will increase coverage to provide two additional years, up from one. These warranties cover you against breakage, if it occurs after the manufacturer's warranty has already expired and you purchased the broken item with the covered credit card.
How It Works. You must pay for the item using your eligible Mastercard. Purchase an item that comes with an original manufacturer's (or U.S. store brand) warranty. Coverage may be provided for the repair or replacement cost of the item and will not exceed the actual amount charged on the eligible Mastercard.

In reality, purchase protection (also called price protection) is an aspect of many credit cards, whereby customers are able to receive refunds on items purchased with the credit card if the price of those items decreases within a specific time frame after the purchase.
Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, balance transfers, cash advances, person-to-person transactions, purchases of gift cards, purchases of traveler's checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, or purchases of other cash equivalents.
Extended warranty
Under its current terms, American Express can provide up to two extra years to an original U.S. manufacturer's warranty of five years or less when you use your card on new eligible purchases. This perk currently applies to all American Express cards.The U.S. Bank Cash 365™ American Express® Card offers price protection through its Best Value Guarantee program.
Visa Signature and Visa Infinite cards such as the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and the US Bank Altitude Reserve Visa Infinite Card offer extended warranty protection. Both card types will extend warranties of three years or less and will cover up to $10,000 per claim and up to $50,000 per account.
If you just have the standard warranty, then you should be covered by the extended warranty protection offered by Amex no problem. The standard Apple warranty covers you for one year from the date of purchase, so Amex would add on another year to your coverage.
