A family-run chain has bought 11 Lloydspharmacy branches branded "commercially unviable", claiming the finances do "make sense". The 11 pharmacies are among the 190 “commercially unviable” Lloydspharmacy branches in England where parent company Celesio UK announced in October it will cease trading.
Fact: Lloyds Banking group and Lloyds Pharmacy are completely separate entities. The only thing we share is a name.
Since 2006 the number of community pharmacies in England has generally increased. The number of pharmacies had been above 11.6 thousand since 2013, before dropping to 11,539 community pharmacies in 2018/19.
Local drug stores like CVS, Walgreens or Publix offer medication fulfillment or refills through the mail. CVS has created an app where you can choose your delivery location. You can choose to have your drugs delivered to your home, office or if you are traveling, to a temporary address.

- Pay, or upload exemption. When your GP sends the prescription back to us, we'll ask you to pay for your order.
- Delivery. As soon as your payment has been processed, we'll send your prescription to you via Royal Mail.
Boots' decision to charge customers £5 for delivering some prescriptions has been labelled "a disgrace". The chemist plans to bring in the charge for existing customers from 30 September, and will offer a £55 annual subscription service. Existing customers will begin getting charged towards the end of the month.

Echo works with GP surgeries in England to take care of prescriptions. You can request your medicines and Echo will confirm and dispense them to a delivery address of your choice. Postage is free on all prescriptions and Echo accepts all NHS exemptions and prepayment certificates.
To order your medication, you'll need to provide your details including the name of your GP and prescription items. Boots will then contact your doctor to verify the order. Once approved, you'll be notified by Boots when your item has been sent out for delivery by Royal Mail.
