Warrain Beach/Currarong Beach - is the main surfing beach for the settlement of Culburra. Dogs are allowed on the beach 24hrs ,7 days a week with leash free times from 3pm to 10am (Autumn/winter months); 4pm to 8am (Summer holiday period).
We find the pebbly beach (sunshine Bay dog friendly). You would have to phone up council for the hours dogs are allowed but it is a nice quiet beach for a bonding walk. Look up holiday homes eg. Raine & Horne for dog friendly rentals.
For a more typical surf beach head to Mollymook Beach. The centre section of the beach, between the northern end of Donlan Road and Mollymook Creek, allows dogs all day, but they need to be kept on leash. Make sure to keep a close eye on your dog near the water, as the surf can be quite rough.
Start at Berrara Lagoon (low tide is best so you can get across the lagoon) then walk south along level easy to walk on beach 1.5km until you reach a rock shelf and Mermaids Pool which is big enough to swim in. Unfortunately no dogs allowed on this beach.
