There's no better companion in the outdoors than your trusted canine friend but visiting a national park with your dog can sometimes present a challenge. In most parks, pets are not allowed on trails and in wilderness areas — this is for their own protection as well as that of the local plant and animal life.
Leashed pets are allowed on trails in Olympic National Forest. Please keep your pet free of seeds to prevent the spread of invasive plant species. Become a Bark Ranger. Well-behaved dogs are invited to bring their human companions and become official Olympic National Park Bark Rangers!
It's an easy drive or hike to the summit, which offers commanding 360 degree views. Dominating the scene, Mt. Rainier is just ten miles away to the south.
Notes: Dogs prohibited, no camping at Eunice Lake or Tolmie Peak. Mowich Lake Road can be rough and bumpy.
Dogs are allowed on much, but not all of the PCT. Generally, they need to be on leash. The regulations affecting you and your dog vary depending on the agency that manages the stretch of the trail.

Mount Rainier National Park contains a wide variety of wildlife species. Among the largest and most feared are the black bear and the mountain lion. Black bears can be found everywhere in the park, even on trails.

A very rewarding two-hour walk around Flinders Peak in the You Yangs, with great views in all directions. Note: while dogs are allowed on this walk, they must be on-lead.
Much of the area around Cape Tribulation, extending from the Daintree River up to the Bloomfield River, is situated inside the Daintree National Park. As explained on the Queensland Government Department of Environment and Science website, dogs and other pets are not permitted inside national parks in Queensland.
Pets are permitted in Badlands National Park with some restrictions. Pets are only permitted in developed areas, such as campgrounds and picnic areas, and other areas open to motor vehicles, such as gravel and paved roadways, roadway corridors, and parking lots.
Dogs are not allowed in the National Park and cats are prohibited in general in Halls Gap and surrounds. Make sure your dog is always under your control. Dogs are allowed inside the cabins but must not be allowed on the furniture, so please bring your own pet bed.
Dogs, other pets and firearms are not permitted. Keep to the tracks. Observe fire restrictions. Carry out all rubbish.
Activities such as camping outside designated areas, unattended campfires or maintaining a campfire on days of total fire ban, dog-walking, trail bike riding in prohibited areas, off-road driving and firewood collection are prohibited in Bunyip State Park.
