Raystown Lake is a reservoir in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. It is the largest lake that is entirely within Pennsylvania. The original lake was built by the Simpson family of Huntingdon as a hydroelectric project.

A vast majority of Raystown Lake is frozen over thanks to the polar vortex and frigid temperatures. Though some boat launches do have open water around them right now, they could still freeze, said Allen Gwinn, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park ranger with Raystown Lake.

Created by the Roamingwood Dam, 225-acre Roamingwood Lake is the largest lake in the Hideout. It has a marina and plenty of water for power boats, jet skis, and wave runners.

I am in APCP and there are many vacation rental properties dotted around Lake Carobeth and a beach by the clubhouse and another across the lake at the boat ramp. Even if a lifeguard is not on duty and swimming is not allowed you can still go down to the water and play by the edge.
