Start with these suggestions:
- Verify your internet connection is working. If it's not, there are four things you can do to fix it.
- Make sure you're using the correct email server settings.
- Confirm your password is working.
- Confirm you don't have a security conflict caused by your firewall or antivirus software.
If the message never arrived, there are several things you can do to try to fix the problem:
- Check your Junk Email folder.
- Clean out your inbox.
- Check your inbox filter and sort settings.
- Check the Other tab.
- Check your Blocked senders and Safe senders lists.
- Check your email rules.
- Check email forwarding.
To fix the Outlook 2007/2010/2016 not receiving emails, just go to your Outlook's inbox filters and remove any unwanted option here. Also, go to Filter > Sort by and choose to sort it by date. In this way, you can see all the recent emails that could have been blocked by the filter.
Go to the Outlook inbox folder, click on Send/Receive option and check if all the missing emails are back in the folder again or not.
Try settings>mail, contacts, calendars>mail>show recent messages. Change the number of messages that show and then see if that helps. Try sending yourself an email and see if that loads the other emails in your inbox.
Open the Settings app > Mail, contacts,Calendars. Under the Mail section, tap Show, then set for the number of recent emails you want displayed. In settings, mail contacts and calendars there is a choice for up to 100 messages to be displayed.
Clear the Cache and Data for Your Email AppLike all apps on your device, your email app saves data and cache files on your phone. While these files don't normally cause any issues, it's worth clearing them to see if that fixes the email sync issue on your Android device. Tap on Clear Cache to remove cached data.
Re: Outlook not updating inbox
- Click File > Account Settings > Account Settings.
- Click the Office 365 account, and then click Change.
- Under Offline Settings, uncheck Use Cached Exchange Mode.
- Exit, and then restart Outlook.

For Outlook 2007:

To correct this action, reset the view settings of all Outlook folders back to the default setting by launching Outlook with the cleanviews switch.
- Ensure Outlook is closed.
- From the Run command (Windows Key + R), type outlook.exe /cleanviews and click OK.
- Outlook will open and all view settings will be set to default.

If you're using Android Nougat or Marshmallow, you can reset the Outlook app using these steps:

- On your computer, go to Gmail .
- In the top right, click Settings Settings.
- At the top, choose a settings page, such as General, Labels, or Inbox.
- Make your changes.
- After you're done with each page, click Save Changes at the bottom.
Head to your Gmail account on the web, click the gear icon in the top right corner. If the update is available on your account, you will see an option to “Try the new Gmail” up top. Google has not made this new Gmail default for everyone yet, so if you're not seeing it, keep checking back.
